Obama pardons former Chicago Mercantile Exchange member
President Barack Obama pardoned the crimes of 12 people Wednesday, including former Chicago Mercantile Exchange member Brian Edward Sledz. Sledz was sentenced to one year of probation in 1993 and ordered to pay $1,318 in supervision costs and almost $8,300 in restitution after he served as a key witness in cases against other traders. Sledz is a resident of Naperville, Ill. He pled guilty to pocketing large sums while buying and selling futures contracts while working as a currency trader.
