US consumer prices expected to have slid modestly in November
The Labor Department reports on November consumer prices. The report will be released at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Wednesday. FALLING PRICES: Economists believe consumer prices declined 0.1 percent in November, according to a survey by data firm FactSet. Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy costs, is projected to show a small 0.1 percent bump. INFLATION LOW: Consumer prices were flat in October as gas prices fell for the fourth straight month. Falling prices at the pump have kept inflation in check.
