  • AUDUSD targets 0.945 above 0.932

    Whilst I am still targeting 0.945 I suspect we'll see a 38.2% retracement before a resumption of the bullish trend. Failing that, we could just see direct gains. Following last Tuesday's positive Jobs data from Australia and China AUDUSD did not waste any time in breaking above 0.932 resistance and eventually over-shooting our 0.9380 target manually to breach 0.9380 2 days later. Those who missed the breakout hopefully managed to jump on board the retracement to 0.9320 supports before the final leg up. So all in all, the analysis so far has held out quite well. The market didn't look too alarmed at the housing data, although a break below 0.934 confirms a double top (and hopefully we'll get a retracement to 0.932).

A break below 0.930 will get my interest, with 0.920 swing low break putting us back in line with bearish weekly trend. At the moment I fancy a run up to 0.950 before the bears take control again.

My opinion only of course (as an Analyst, not a broker

Yes the crowd seem decided over if / how it will effect A$. Even if it does, my technical levels remain regardless. If Armageddon happens then I can refer to the break of the bullish channel etc.

NP I'll not claim to be an expert on that side of things, but I figure if the 'brown stuff' hits the fan, it may take time to filter though to A$ (if not already priced in) so I am paying closer attention to Greenback strength, China data etc.

I'll take a look at ASX and post later

Australia has a RBA owned by Australians and a Government now in power that has the long term view and that doesn't include debt and deficit!

Considering the poor Chinese data that just came out - A$ didn't fall too hard! Hopefully it will drift to a better buy price

Most brokers do not follow ethical practices, as would be expected, in order to allow their dealing desks to offload unfavorable positions. Except that in a lot of countries, it is considered criminal to do so. Classic pump and dump.

Looking at the past few weeks worth of fundamentals from both Aus and China, and the US, it is quite probable we might see 0.80 by the end of the year in the AUDUSD. Keep in mind that the USD has been kept relatively muted till now in spite of all the positive numbers, mainly by the funds playing the carry trade. When the market starts getting heavy against them and the pain index starts rising for them, there will be a couple of big corrections in the pair.
my target only 9300 today. not sure tomorrow it could be up or maybe down again to 9200. this broker who talk about 9450 must be came from aussie thats why they wont aud fall but they forgot about fundamental, that if aud high above 0.9000 then export will keep down from aussie and jobless will increase again in aussie

some of the things you say are true our reserve bank wants a low dollar , ask you self why they are not doing anything to get down

I think most important is no retrace on EUR. If it will go down more next few hours, could take Aussie too. (:-) im not a broker or analyst)

0.85 and 0.80 are my LT targets, and have been for some time, and will be sticking with them. But for now, above 0.932 targets 0.945, 50 etc.

No I think the broker said there would be a certain amount of retracement before it resumes a bullish trend, and that would be just the opposite of what the poster was saying.
