Bank of England maintains Bank Rate at 0.5%
The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee at its meeting on 9 April voted to maintain Bank Rate at 0.5%. The Committee also voted to maintain the stock of purchased assets financed by the issuance of central bank reserves at £375 billion. The Committee reached its decisions in the context of the monetary policy guidance announced alongside the publication of the August 2013 Inflation Report. The minutes of the meeting will be published at 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday 23 April. Notes to Editors The previous change in Bank Rate was a reduction of 0.5 percentage points to 0.5% on 5 March 2009.
