. And this is only for the period from summer of 2013 until now (euro was the 1.27, cable was 1.48). Vigorous shorting and short calling since then :-)))

Marc the main problem of financial writing in forex is that all journalist explain what already happened & try to avoid what might happen in the near future... your report is very professional as a journalist... yet what a trader need is the following:
1- short reports as briefing cos they don't have time to read a big article.
2- technical studies which show how your events explained left an impact on chart... i advise for that daily chart.
3- a little blink for what might happen in the near future & in long term

fundamental writing is the hardest, yet by mixing technical and fundamental together in your reports... then you will get more readers

There is no fundamental to Euro strength. It's just stop lost hunting. Maybe ppl are just so tired supporting USD, while the FED takes a stand to weaken it even further.

The fed is pumping the markets, while the ECB has talked about doing something...I would anticipate that the EUR will continue to move up until the ECB actually does something to back up all their talk.

I do not see how you can combine unlikes. fundamentals is conjecture around the affects of current data from two sides of a divide. There is no known way of projecting such conjectures into any sort of future. Any attempt at doing so (even with sophisticated mathematical engines) will see relationships breakdown after only a few iterations. This is simply because it is impossible both in theory and practice to specify these variables (otherwise called initial conditions) to absolute infinity. This is where the so-called butterfly effect arises. Tiny differences among the specifications can lead into huge (and unpardonable if you are trading cash) errors of estimation.

On the other hand "technicals" is also similarly limited in that its trend lines etc are essentially linear functions which are basically unrealistic. Nonetheless using curvilinear approaches it is possible to read the market almost precisely and without the need to second guess anything --------> simply maintain enough patience to enter according to the timing of such functions (which though slightly behind price is nevertheless always accurate).

I did mention elsewhere (using such means) that it is unlikely that 1.36600 is broken in the down run from last week and that the result will be a strong rise. That is taking place as we speak. But I can also tell you now without any fear of contradiction whatsoever that the euro will top about the 1.38 handle and fall steadily south for sometime and at least up to the 1.33 handle. The issue with reading the market is a) skill in selecting and applying the correct tools and approach b) understanding the dynamic nature of price and that it cannot be guessed it can only be followed a step or two behind and c) the limitations of the common approaches such as outlined above.
