Ten Things More Important Than A Trade Entry

I used to believe this, but not any more. The entry is JUST as important as all the other components of a trading system. Risk management alone isn't going to make you money if you have very little clue about what drives markets, which instruments to trade at what time, and at what levels.
Without the ability to be "right" frequently, a good risk management system simply means you go broke more slowly. It is JUST as important to develop a sound understanding of the markets and to gain insight into how prices might move as it is to have a good "system".

A trading PLAN is a predefined consequence of your operations in any scenario of market behavior that is based on YOUR own analysis of the market. In other words:
The trading PLAN tells us what Should be Done and Why (Our Analysis), When (Price Behavior) and How. Analysis is based on our own trading SYSTEM.
“When, and How” mostly depends upon our personality and risk management.
Still there are those wondering Why ? I can’t trade directly or by following market action or others? ???Frankienstien??? ???W/out A Plan??? ???Follow The Leader???
Let me start with a trader who starts to deal with a live account on real money,Its at this moment they feel some psyche pressures. By impact of such pressures they have a tendency to make irrational trade decisions, especially if the market jumps and chops.
This pressure reaches inordinate levels when they hold a loss position. Pressure is also significant, even if they hold a profitable position. Irrational behavior due this pressure leads to early close of a profitable position and extended holding of loosing positions,which leads to a significantly larger overall loss or even account termination. A trading PLAN is made to avoid this.
By useing our own trading PLAN we know where and at what conditions in wich to enter, exit or reverse our position both with profit and with loss. So, a trading PLAN strongly minimizes unwelcome psyche factors in trading. When I stick with the PLAN & act by it without Deviation !

Lets look at each of his 10 items.
1.That is common sense and presuposes a good trading plan and understanding of the market.
2.Having a correct ratio of a high probability low risk entry of at least 2:1 reward to risk is vital. In the trading plan
3. See 2 (previous answer).
4.stop loss is governed by the correct place on the chart and appropriate money management Big stop smaller pip value for example.
5. Common sense.
6.This is money management so back to the answer at 1.
7. Fancy that he has now got to what should have been the first point! No plan no hope!
8.The trading plan includes the methodology well tried and proven to have an edge before going live.
9.Money management and entry are considered together.
10.Yes the market will do what the market does and we need to understand that we cannot influence the market. Just figure the likely move based on your plan and a good understanding, experience, thousands of hours of seeing charts, reading main news, getting an overall picture of a balanced view of what is happening now.
In my view a solid education with a carefully worked out simple plan is vital. How this guy can say that the entry is not the most important thing is just not logical. If you do not get in at the right time, based on the various components of a good trading plan then you aint going to have the opportunity to make a profit .
Keep it simple, learn the mental game, have faith, be disciplined and work well within your risk limit and profits will come over time.
