Japan Housing Starts Growth Slows In January
Japanese housing starts growth slowed more than expected in January, official data showed Friday. Housing starts advanced 12.3 percent in January from the prior year, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said. But the rate was below December's 18 percent increase and 15 percent rise forecast by economists. Annualized housing starts fell to 987,000 in January from 1.055 million in December. It was forecast to fall to 1.012 million units in January.
