  • Cable slammed down through the fix

    From forexlive.com

Cable touched a session high of 1.6725 heading into the London fix but has been beaten up like the British men`s curling team afterwards, down to 1.6647 in a flash. The US dollar is broadly stronger with USDJPY also rising and EURUSD slumping.

The whole day was orchestrated
Traders were lured into shorts before the news and killed right afterwards
Then the bo-Trader got their breakout on the long and were killed right afterwards
My guess is a big deal at LDN fix had to be transacted

IMHO its a misnomer suggesting a 4 pm London time fix on cable as a closing price when certain markets close but as we know FX doesn't close (in the same manner as equities or PMs) and I don't regard 4pm or 11 as a 'fix' for a major pair.

http://www.forexstreet.net/m/blogpost?id=3252082%3ABlogPost%3A531156

The only real fix in London as a London Fix IMO is this

GBPJPY was easy to trade on Friday. It reacted right out of supply almost to the pip. As we are trending down on H4, a sell trade would have been my choice. The markets are easy to trade when you have about 12,000 hours of screen time under your belt.

This is not an easy business, 90% of people will lose their accounts, even very smart people. However trading is about chart reading, understanding what is going on, and why the market is turning where it does.

Forget stocs, RSI, MACD, ellot waves pivot points, patterns ( I was once a fan of these).

Price and trend is all you need. I now trade with a completely bare chart. Sadly most people would rather give their account to the broker, then learn how to trade correctly-

I know SB will slag me off for this but do I care? I had three dates for a reversal in the GPBJPY, I posted the chart on my blog 12th Feb. The dates were 15th
21st or 24~25th Feb.

Price levels I gave 171.23, 173.61,177.75

Friday 21th the GBPJPY touched 171.76, not to the pip in terms of price but 50 pips out, not bad for a forecast made 5 days in advance. What I am saying is that the informaton is there in the charts for you to use. Learn to look at the charts and also look at cycles, although not exact, you can identify zones weeks in advance.

Cable is a wonderful pair to trade. It has pretty defined ranges for swings and by a little prudence with hedging cable can be very profitable - can't really figure out why you deny it - it rather deny the EUR/USD than cable.

here you go my gbp story - why am I gbp bitter:

long time ago when I was beginner, traded GBP futures and bought couple of contracts with a stop for a swing trade.

one of UK front men said something what caused gbp to stop me out and jump over my stop 57 pips and came back straight away.

After detailed investigation, figured out that only my couple of contracts was executed during this spike.

Concluded that this official said what he said as he was instructed from MM so he gets excuse to stop me out.

this changed perception of how little these guys will bang for. If this loop was used to get 1000 - 2k gbp from a newbie then one must be really careful ... and assume not gbp specific though.

hope someone learns from this....

Paid trollers to big up cable? Fukc me that's out there with Pluto in terms of conspiracy theories...

Look, the majors have the best spreads because they're the most liquid, most traded and are the best to scalp and swing, it really is that simple, so put aside all your paranoia and trade it ffs.

Weeeell...... you could always try trading without a stop...

< ...pause whilst howls of derision subside... >

...and that means lower trade leverage, ...longer time frame, close trade when you think it is best and not because of some number that you telegraphed to your broker or the market.

Or maybe just take off stops, or widen by 100 pips, at news times and when Carney, Draghi or Yellen speak.

yup, my stops are now rather wide. In last 50 trades original stop was never touched. I always exited for other reasons.

shadow of above experience on my mind, which is a good thing.
