What to Expect from Canada’s Jobs Report Friday
Economists think Canada kicked off the year on a relatively good note in January, adding jobs after a dismal December. But Canadian employment data are notoriously volatile, so a surprise is possible. The consensus forecast is that the economy added 20,000 net new jobs last month, with the unemployment rate slipping to 7.1% from 7.2%, according to a report from TD Securities.
