    Ben Bernanke, who stepped down as chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve on Friday, checked into work Monday morning at his new job at the Brookings Institution, a centrist policy think tank based in Washington. Bernanke, whose eight-year tenure atop the U.S. central bank was marked by financial crisis and policy experimentation in the face of the Great Recession, joins Brookings as a distinguished fellow in residence at its economic studies program, the institution said on Monday. Is that a real job?
No, and yes.

It is an example of how those that have served the designs of the super-rich get "put out to pasture" in a comfy, well paid, position of prestige. Well, so far as they are concerned, they'd like all the "little, insignificant worker bees" to consider it a position prestige. It is just another way the super-rich create veils of mystique between themselves (and those that serve them) and the rest of society, so as to help deceive everyone else into thinking there is something special about them, such that they deserve their positions of power and influence. They don't. Any "Joe, the plumber" with a little coaching could screw up just a badly as these folks do. And would do it with a lot less pay, pompousness and circumstance, too.
