This NOT a remarkable achievement at all.

It is clear that he made most of the money seeking out and monitoring stocks that were being pumped and dumped as part of a boiler-room scam; and then he shorted those stocks when the pump part of the scam had taken the stock to its peak. That is, he shorted the stocks as the scammers began to dump it.

It is easier to make much greater wealth with Forex trading; simply because of the leverage possible. Stock trading is 1:1 leverage only, making the journey much more difficult.

Penny stocks are the biggest scam in trading. It lures beginners into thinking it is a cost effective strategy because it's under $1. Pink sheets and OTCs are not easy to trade and near impossible to find reliable financials. And this is not investing, but I blame the lack of anything from CNN.

It's also kind of scary that CNN notes an $8K gain in 10 minutes. It gives the impression that anyone could do it.

Although, I have had success with small bio-tech companies on listed exchanges. If you follow the sector, you could get a 100% pop on an FDA drug approval or 3-stage trial. Even not, some of the mid-sized biotechs have large daily ranges which are amazing for trading.

With pennies, you are basically risking the entire allocation on one move in that stock. I could trade just MYGN for a day, and 10 trades later make 300 ticks.

And...this is just more propaganda from Sykes. I seen him a while back. Heard he was scamming "investors" a few years back doing the same thing.

You can trade options on stocks. It is leverage trading. I used to do it.

You agree that forex is highly leveraged hence more wealth can be made in short period but stock is 1:1 leverage so making good money is hard, but still surprisingly you dont see this as a remarkable achievement. According to you he has done it in more hard circumstances (stock not forex) then how come his achievements not remarkable. Because you made $ 50 Mil you might not see this $1 Mil as significant, but it is nevertheless remarkable achievement. Its not everyday/every-week/every-month/every-year you can see someone turning 1500 into 1 Mil, so when someone does it give him credit, well it might be full of luck & now he can blow it but who cares, he has done it & give credit for what he has achieved here.

Funny how people here are saying penny stocks are shit when I have done very well off a few penny stocks, Flinder's diamond's now known as flinder's mine's FMS went from .001of a cent to .10cent's and now is trading @ .031 cents and then there's my personal favorite New Sat limited NWT got in @ .002 cent's and now is trading @ .40 cents and still hold are just a couple of examples of my own experiences trading penny stocks !

Most important thing with trading penny stock's and stock's in general is to DYOR !

The funny thing is you are totally wrong that tell's me you have little to no trading experience

Yes stock trading is 1:1 leverage but the moves in stock's are much much higher even with lower volumes than FX, Some penny stock's move 50-100% in a day!

For example what currency pair do you know that has moved 400% or more in a year or two?

Again, he may have traded stock options, which is higher than 1:1 leverage. If he shorted a stock, this can only be done with options. You can not buy a stock and make money if it falls, but you can buy a put option (for a fraction of the cost of stocks, i.e leverge) and make money as it falls.

I can only talk about the ASX and there is NO penny stock's you can short.

The only stock's in ASX that can be shorted are blue chip company's and even that can change over night for eg. when GFC started they put a ban on shorting the banking stock's!

you can't trade options on penny stocks. If you want to short penny stocks, you're on the right track - but go ahead and try it with your stock broker and see what happens.

Yes you are right, I have never traded anything other than forex & gold. But my point was if & only if someone really done that, means traded with $1500 & made it to $1 MIl be it any market then he deserves credit.

I turned $1000 into $14000 trading stocks then decided that Forex would be the way to go, I bought into a program put up $1500 built it to $12000 then on one trade finished with $800. I am thinking that I should go back to stocks

I don't know too much about stock trading or penny stocks, but have sometimes seen stocks at 1 or 2 cents each, and they double for a short while occasionally. But obviously, to try and offload that stock at double is very hard.

So cant a person rather use the paper vehicle or ETF? ...Its easier to get rid of, surely.
I made 100 into a couple million once. No kiddig. But it was from dollar into indonesian rupee! still it was a couple million

I don't know how hard is to make the sort of money with stocks because I don't trade stocks at all but I know that if you don't have at least a 5 figure amount of money trading forex it will take some good years to get your first million assuming you have the strong discipline and one strategy that works at least 75% of the time.
There is one book that I believe almost all people who trade FX have heard before titled: $1000 to $1 Million in 80 days.
As a book to teach the basics of FX trading it is not bad(could be a lot better) but to make this miracle??? 80 days?? starting with $1000 and ends with $! million???

Not true some penny stock's have huge volume's and can be easily off loaded!

A lot of penny stocks are not even 1c and some are right at the bottom @ 0.001 of a cent now some of these stocks still have huge volumes and go from 0.001 to 0.002 then back to 0.001 then to 0.002 hundreds of times a day so every trade you do from 0.001 to 0.002 is 100% profit now depending on the volume you can do this a couple times a week or even more!

There's no question about it trading penny stocks is risky as most are not at the stage of making profit but are at development stage's only so it's very important to DYOR (do your own research) as many eventually go into administration and never get off the ground but even if you only trade it twice from 0.001 to 0.002 and then your 3rd buy the company goes into administration and you get stuck you still come out with 100% profit after you have cut your last loss!

I like this article, whether or not it is true, because the fact is... if you are good enough, you can turn $1,500 into a million dollars, and in much less than 3 years.

I'm working on it.

I don't know how the guy in the article did it, but I trade regular and binary options and with options, crazy ridiculous amounts of money and % gains are possible in a very short amount of time. I just made 1,800% in about 3 days (then proceeded to lose it bc of stupidity... in 1 day, lol), and now I'm sitting on a 600% gain again (though admittedly, with a $50 deposit) in a couple of hours.

It is tough, but it most certainly can be done.

In my opinion, making big money is easiest to do trading options, but it's possible in FX too and I'll be sure to post my trade explorer once I do it!

Shorting penny stocks are very difficult because first you have to find shares to short. If it is a pump n dump it will be very difficult to find shares to short because there is hardly any volume, theres not enough shares to short, also even if you did find shares to short you have to have a very high end trading account with like 50k + for the company to even allow you to buy shares to short. If you want to get into penny stocks you need to do a ton of research and focus on the penny stocks that will spike up because you can always buy shares but its nearly impossible to find shares to short. Tim Sykes finds shares to short sometimes because he has a very high trading account and a ton of people working under him that help him find shares to short. its easy to focus on breakouts and things like that once you understand how penny stocks work. But if you do not have 10k + to play around with I would probably not even worry about it ppl with hundreds of thousands will nopt worry about penny stocks they will focus on higher end stocks. remember only 1% of the trading population controls the stock market. they have super computers that see you buying stock then they buy if before you do then sell it back to you for a higher price hahah its a joke right. but i would focus on stock like google, nike, disney something long term that will build and build and build.

The link posted here about TG simply is a case study of his success from Neil Patel .... How does that show it up as a scam marketer?

I think some people have just been burned by the industry so much (In which there are a lot of scammers) that in the end everything is a scam and its not even possible to make money from trading at all...
My question to CNN, the "millionaire" and his guru:
How on earth do you know that a penny stock is about to be dumped, if you were not part of those who pumped it in the first place?
