China’s Oct. Inflation Accelerates, Producer Prices Extend Drop
China’s inflation accelerated and the decline in factory-gate prices deepened, National Bureau of Statistics data released today in Beijing showed. The consumer price index rose 3.2 percent from a year earlier, the bureau said. That compares with the 3.3 percent median estimate of 44 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News and a 3.1 percent gain in September. Producer prices fell 1.5 percent from a year earlier. The median projection of 40 analysts was for a decline of 1.4 percent after a 1.3 percent drop the previous month.
