TREND ESTIMATES (MONTHLY CHANGE) Employment decreased to 11,636,600. Unemployment increased to 710,000. Unemployment rate increased by less than 0.1 pts to 5.8%. Participation rate decreased to 64.8%. Aggregate monthly hours worked increased to 1,647.9 million hours. SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES (MONTHLY CHANGE) Employment increased 1,100 to 11,639,200. Full-time employment decreased 27,900 to 8,094,700 and part-time employment increased 28,900 to 3,544,500. Unemployment increased 9,100 (1.3%) to 709,300. if markets were to go back to 0.91 on one single data then aussie would have been at 0.76. this bad data was getting priced in when rba was cutting rates and aussie was falling for last 3 months

The AUD economy is looking for a lower AUD to help with the export side of things. The same is true all over the globe at the moment with most nations trying to devalue. The benefits that the AUD have is the interest rates still have some room to move south if they need too. I think the pullback has occured and we are now looking south for AUD. EUR and USD news will be interesting in seeing how the AUD reacts to it.

Sure it will not be just this data, my view is the new direction is in.... lets see where it is in next few weeks... post election honeymoon is over, finance minister has a budget headache... should be enough to keep pressure on Aussie until xmas

Agree to a point with you atraderfx, we also have a governement delivering tax cuts whilst borrowing more to pay for infrastucture, thus deepening the 'budget emergency' that they went to the election with. Someone has to pay for it somewhere, why not the Average Joe in consumer pricing, when we are fast becoming an import nation.

If you read the last statement from Glenn, you will also find that he has admitted two things, one that the AUD is in better shape than he thought and two he has begun to realise 80c is beyond his control, which he was using interest rate cuts to try and control. Watch carefully in the new year, he will look to raise interest rates again assuming he still is in the job.
