Does anyone know if this outcome is dollar positive or dollar negative?....If the Federal Reserve thinks the market is pricing in too early of a rate hike in the Fed funds rate, it can lower the threshold of the unemployment rate from the current 6.5% and we would not rule this out.
I think most people didn't listen to what Bernake really said. Tapering will only occur when the numbers indicate the economy is improving at the rate the Feds want. Recent data hasn't supported the notion of tapering, if anything it re-enforces the current strategy. Whether that will produce the results they are hoping for is another question altogether
