UK Balance of Payments, Q3 2012
•The United Kingdom’s (UK) current account deficit was £12.8 billion in the third quarter of 2012, down from a revised deficit of £17.4 billion in the previous quarter. The deficit in the third quarter equated to 3.3% of GDP at current market prices. •The trade deficit narrowed to £8.3 billion in the third quarter of 2012, down from £11.0 billion in the previous quarter. •The income balance switched to a surplus of £1.2 billion, from a deficit of £1.0 billion in the second quarter of 2012. •The financial account recorded net inward investment of £5.8 billion during the third quarter of 2012. •The ...
