    The Federal Reserve said it will buy $45 billion a month of Treasury securities starting in January, expanding its asset-purchase program, and it linked the outlook for its main interest rate to unemployment and inflation. “The committee remains concerned that, without sufficient policy accommodation, economic growth might not be strong enough to generate sustained improvement in labor-market conditions,” the Federal Open Market Committee said today at the conclusion of a two-day meeting in Washington. The Feds needs to be audited. There is too much electronic money floating around, allegedly not part of monetary base but exist electronically. I would like to apply for a Federal Reserve Credit Card with 0% interest. I think Bernanke has one. He uses it everyday at Walmart and US Treasuries.

To be serious, all Onion references aside, they know it can't and doesn't work, they've lost control of the money supply and the wizard of oz was found lurking behind the curtain years back. This is all they have, it's actually incredibly reckless and scary when you meditate on it for any length of time.

Must understand that most of this money will never be put into real economy, it's just money which will be located on ultra rich subjects (funds, corporations). So in fact this money will not rise the inflation, cuz none of this money will be used as a payment. It's just numbers on accounts.
In fact I am surprised that market react so strong. Nothing has changed. QE still at the same level. Maybe today we saw the top for next weeks, and after Ben speech market will find right direction, will see. The best example is gold. Should rocket, but not this time.

Actually, it's at a higher level now. Operation "Twist" is ending but it wasn't actually expanding the Fed's balance sheet because they were selling short term debt to fund long term debt purchases, in equal amounts. But now they're replacing that amount with the equal amount of outright bond buying ($45B) - and that is by how much they're increasing QE, which is actually more than double of their announced "easing" two months ago.

The really $%^#ed up part is that even if the bullshit BLS numbers were to indicate at some point they have achieved their goal of 6.5% unemployment, they will find another reason to keep printing.

Ok. You have your point, I have mine. Of course it's hard to sterilized every peny, but this is how it works. Of course sonner or later money through financial system will land in economy. But this will take long time.
