GDP: A "2 handle" that will be revised and likely downward. But hopefully to stay well above last Q's revised 1.3% Still a lousy "recovery."

I am buying since news does not determine order flow. My sense is that we have seen about as much as there is to see of Euro downside. Indeed, I think we just saw it's lowest rate for some time to come. Of course price is in what "technical" people call consolidation in D1 - but the primary motive or direction of the Euro at this time is still bullish.

Strongly doubt we will break much below (if at all) 1.28825 especially if we manage to close above 1.29860 short-term and that is well within intraday range.

Strongly agree 1.29 is a key number for today and next week forex will forget today's US data and Euro long on spec (hope).

Data releases and M5 charts will get you nowhere fast. look at the H4 and daily.

Strongly doubt we will break much below (if at all) 1.28825 especially if we manage to close above 1.2986 short-term and that is well within intraday range.

at the time i bought, us index still at 82.20, at the resistance, and with the good news, i think it can break out, but the fact that it can't not , but i still think gold in the dow trend

I believe some gangsters (big players) have hijacked the market. The figures may also be cooked. Check this out:
8:48 EDT - The global slowdown, especially the European recession, shows up in today's US GDP report. Net exports subtracted 0.18 percentage points from top-line 3Q growth. Real exports drop 1.6%, first decline since early 2009. With Europe and China still struggling, US exporters probably face more declines in shipments. ([email protected])

and this:

8:42 EDT - The impact of the devastating Midwest drought on agriculture shows up in the government's tally of farm inventories. Today's GDP report notes shrinking farm inventories subtracted 0.42 percentage point from 3Q GDP growth. So, the economy would have grown about 2.4% if rains had come. That's near its potential growth rate and fast enough to support better job gains. ([email protected])

There are many things going on behind the scene that we do not have access to. Just as they did with unemployment figures last week.

There may also be insider information about the next news on Consumer sentiment and inflation expectations which may be bad. Check across board, USD is flat against all major currencies.

hmmmm.......
Gold up gold down gold up gold down....
Just get a thinking, why gold can't break 1800? How many times it tried to break up and failed then went down?
Right now I'm counting and wonder, how many times gold has and will try to break 1690-1700? Will it succeed or will it fail? Only God knows and time will tell...
But as always, the longer "something" stays the more chance it will suffer "amnesia" and forget which direction it should go. In many occasions, it will "go back home"...
Hope you understand what I mean
Good luck...

Gold up.....Gold down......lol

10:16 EDT - The euro is now up against the dollar following news that the first round of disbursements to Spain's banks as part of a EU bailout are expected on time. The positive developments offset some of the negative sentiment stemming from an earlier report that Spain's unemployment has continued to climb. The single currency was at $1.2944, from $1.2915 before the news on the bank bailout assessment by the EU and ECB, according to EBS via CQG. ([email protected])

Hi everyone,,,,
It will be a very long text if I have to write my explanation here.
To be honest I don't know where gold will go in the short term context. Will it go fly north or will it dive south.
But if we talk in the long-term context (at least next year), it will go north. I'll share my opinion somewhere else so I don't make "noise" here. I let you know when it's there.
In the mean time, good luck to you all and wish you a cheerful profitable trades...

How far north do you think gold can reach by the end of 2013. even looking at the past history of gold, fundamentals like gold reserves, and demand, gold being used and traded as world currency not just a metal, even i share the same views as you also i think it is using 1700 as a strong spring jumping board kinda support just getting ready for a good jump from hereon.... . lets see how it works... . though 1900 to 1600. is a big contradiction to my funda. of being north in gold.

Everyone's talking about the US GDP figures and no-one is talking about the likelihood of Greek default within a few days.
Ignored
When hundreds of exclusive news predators have their minds on a possible downgrade of Canada by Moody's,
When thousands of chartists immune to bullsh*t figures before elections had their minds to bands,
When millions of traders had their minds for if the pricing in of US GDP on Gold and Oil ended,
When billions of people have their minds on the impact of the US elections on Syria, Iran, Libya which will mostly affect global base currency whereabouts the next years, you wanted to be that someone talking about impact of... Grexit wondering why others doesn't think of it also(!)

I've been here a while and I've seen that #Greece is your main issue.
I bet you know first names of Samaras and Stournaras and have bookmarked ekathimerini.com and that's fine as long as you don't drag others to your trip.

#Grexit lasts so many months that even Citi accepted losses on that bet(2 days later was its CEO-exit) so I suggest you might have to see it subjectively for a change before you see a doctor for obsessions(like piigs/gipsi out, 1.36 kiddo).

Since even a rise of US GDP can't send down for good a ranging EURO you think a last years cover story will do?
The days Greece could do any significant damage to EURO have past and gone because it has ALREADY defaulted TWICE and market priced in both times from 1.50 to 1.20 area and ended on last elections in June.

So even if #Master_of_global_economy_tides is been kicked out whoever throws such volumes since July and stop in the middle of nowhere will continue to close some winners when retail dares to go with them or wants a little motivation to go short and use the profits to buy again when retail refill accounts to short for average.

Stop reading brainwashing news but above all stop trading them.
It's not even worth investing on it for a "told you so" brag on forums.
If euro goes down it won't be because of what media say about Greece or Spain but because it will be overbought or/and there are no more money to stay high.

Gold has very strong support at 1700 and dont expect it can breach easily so go long as demand in indian market are very strong this days and this reports also came from indian gold merchent whcih saw that how thye are more bullis on gold and how much demand increase in india as gold prices fall after made high at 1798$ last month so this should be the buying opportunities in india and ruppeee appreciation and comex prices fall which is help gold prices lower in indian market and demand is increase sharply here in india and we expect here in india by this diwali price can touch to Rs. 33800 whcih should be touch in comex division at around $ 1860. Indian market are major market for gold consumption in the world and this is season for indian to buy gold hence we can expect price of gold move sharply at upper side
