Looks pretty well in line with what the market expected. 20 minutes after the release, EURUSD settles down within the trading range it had prior to the announcement.
Sure I have a trading plan. Buy low. Sell high. What's yours?

I agree, the ECB and FED are done...all the major news is out. But I still think 1.3000 is a major attraction point for euro. And with Bernanke increasing the US balance sheet again, that's not going to rally the dollar.

While I'd still like to see a correction back down to 1.2750, maybe even 1.2500...my charts aren't showing that yet.

Tw0eleven, of course you are put down. Anyone can talk. You just talk and talk and talk, without proving any of your "qualities" in analyzing the market. As long as you don't show us real trading stats on a LIVE account, your comments don't have any significant value.
Other people also do write excellent comments, but you always have to add something stupid like: "you see, I told you..., I KNEW what was going to happen". If you would just leave that "intelligence" out, your comments would be appreciated, otherwise it's bs.

Buy the Hope and Sell the Fact will come when the Pop stop loss hunter is done with the lot.

"Amazing" how fake SP500 has popped so far, lmao!!!! Disaster waiting to happen.

Interesting that there are still some left over steam from the bull after crossing the 127% extension at .2935 - and it only happen in NY session.

Simple summary for newbies - it's far safer for you trade Asian and EU session than NY session. These 2 sessions tend to "obey" the technical lines, as for NY session, it's jsut fuelled with greed and NY traders are always looking for a kill to take out a lot of stop loss in order just to cross a barrier. So becareful

Yes Moaf, from all these months of farting ECB looks broke as its only farting and lips talks - nothing else. 190bn from Germany, that will be used up in ONE day by Greece, Spain and the rest of the PIIGS, what contingency plan is that? Feeding the lazy bums for ONE day?

Eur is heading for the 1.3040 mark which was a major support level in the past that didn't hold. So, we shall wait until then to see if this level will turn into resistance.

So, don't push your luck. Patience is the name of the game.

In the meantime, enjoy the ride up (enjoying so far) and see if it can break higher and hit 1.3014/21 R3 for today - fingers crossed - ~1000pips up. Otherwise one just know where it will go.

BUt lets break R2 at .29651 first (if it can).

More hope market have the more buffer to sell - rinse and repeat

A study has showed that it's better trading the Asian session because of the lower volatility.

This study was done over a ten year period and it shows that traders on average make the most money during this session.

Thanks for your opinion...and I'm sure Jj1459 shares your opinion that I'm a Dick to people like you. I have no problems with that. I have a trading plan, I follow it, and I've been proven right by the markets. I don't need your approval. I come across as a jerk, I'm straight forward, I tell you how it is and I try to share my opinion on here to help some. It might not help everyone and I know that not everyone trades like me or agrees with my approach. The information is there for those that do like it. Again, I'm confident in myself and don't need someone else's approval.

Happy Trading!

In summary I do not know (sorry) but there is a chance of correction as we are in "overbought conditions" above the MACD marker (however in these days, there's no overbought or oversell). There may be some correction but until we know what QE3 is farting, we will then know what pop (North) or pooped (South) we can see. I rather not bet here, just closed long at my R2 position. Also, I tend not to trust technical lines during NY session as NY sessions are very irrational becos of greed.

Well, there are 2 sides of the stories. Earlier in the year an EU min was predicting EU lala land going up to 1.44, that was followed by a 1000pips poop south then the slow up. So the game right now is there are loads of grass noise to confuse traders.

A correction will come at 3040 as wave 3 upward is close to an end. 3040 is major resistance. Look at the weekly chart.

Again, I'm confident in myself and...

Nope, it's called Price Action. And it just proved my point...spike down just before Fed statement to stop out weak longs or get people to go short, followed by a rally up to the 1.3000 level. I don't need to prove shit...the market did it for me!!!!

Not yet done we (big guns) like to confirm direction in the monthly candle - to keep it positive for the month and assure our long-term investment in direction we need more amplitude - that means we need to be above wk1 200MA and close to start thinking what happened to the small guys?

as i mentioned previously today.....the fed will do "something" and that something is enough for the market to latch on to and justify a push higher.....period end of story.....1.3150 will be tested....per the weekly channel.....however, it's time to reconsider and begin looking to sell the euro....it will be awhile before spain ask for money....the bond yields will tell spain went to ask....7.0% is threshold.....look for spain to ask for money at that point....sayonara

Analysis of fundamentals is absurd - why people bother in the face of repeated failure beats me. The market is what you analyse not what you have not a clue about.

Part of the fun of trading is analysis and strategy. And I make a rule for myself "Don't get into the market without any analysis". My analysis of today event is not totally wrong, but miss it. I bet the odds of 1% that there is no QE. It turns out the other way around. But how many pips do I lose? This session, even with QE, GBPUSD only goes up at most 100 pips. EURUSD goes up at most 150 pips. What if there is no QE? The question cannot be answered, because it doesn't happen. So, I miss, but not totally wrong. I will my analysis over and over. I will not get into the market because of somebody else analysis. That is my rule and it applies to me.

With all due respect, i would not go as far as using the word "absurd" and "fundamentals" in the same sentence. For long term trades (1-2 years of sitting on a trade), fundamentals become just as important as technicals, if not more so. Just saying.

Fundamentals is an "analytic approach" not the term structure of investments. However you analyse the market you can trade for whatever amount of time - you can maintain your position. Another fallacy that brokers get newbies hooked on. When I say absurd I mean absurd - and that is because it is the same as looking at the entrails of dead animals to forecast the future.

There is no formal method involved - no discipline that can be applied, no methodology to trade it by and no record (according to empirical research) of it's ability to be a predictor of price.

It is simply not rational to employ in the face of what we are all witnesses to today, yesterday and beyond.

What did I get wrong? 1) I sat out the market today...as I posted previously. 2) I also posted this morning, way before the Fed news, that it would most likely spike down and then go up to the 1.2950-3000 level.

Now looking at the charts, I don't know what I got wrong.

This blows my mind too Loadedgun... http://fxtrade.oanda.com/analysis/

Still have the majority of traders short Euro and Pound. But the euro especially. If you Oanda open orders book link and then click on open orders and positions you can see that MOSt of the Euro short positions are from 1.2900 and BELOW! That tells me a couple things 1) retailers are short and big traders are long 2) retailers are either trading without a stoploss or a VERY big one!

I'm not a long term trader as i am not a millionaire to be making trades and holding on to that trade for an an indefinte time. Perhaps pre 2008, applying fundamentals was looked at briefly. Not so today, at least for the very wealthy. The situation is dire. One can safely enter the market, short the euro, and sit on it for a year. A handsome profit you will make. One can make this trade confidently solely based on fundamentals and looking at the price of the euro. Of course, in conjuction with some common sense.

You baffle me completely and absolutely - so you have never made that kind of trade and you were not trading in whatever period you say that approach was most relevant - yet you know that it can be done and done SOLELY on fundamentals - even when you do not know how fundamentals "analysis" is done or traded?

Frankly if you knew anything about trading, you would know that people trade their beliefs in the market. Whether or not they make money is irrelevant. Making money is the by product of trading ones beliefs.

So tell me how exactly do you trade? I mean, do you just blindly enter trades? Because if you don't, that means you must have come up with a plan before entering your trade...which is also known as "thinking"!!! And now you are telling me that "thinking" equals guessing??? You make no sense in your arguements.

Either 1) you have a plan which involves thinking! or 2) you trade blindly(blindly in my book equals guessing).

Now, of course, he knew it all along. I'll bet his trade history shows a much different story than his mouth does! ...like so many of the same names I keep reading.

Beware the forexfactory "expert" lol

Mr. Gun aka trade police. I believe my statement was straight forward, unfortunately some people are to "smart" for their own good and/or common sense within is so dormant that they have fallen off the map of what reality. You have gone undiagnosed long enough. Obviously you are wealthy at trading forex and you are probably self employed. Ask your broker for a check and get an urgent MRI before you recommence educating everyone on forex factory with your convoluted "thesis" that entirely ignores fundamentals, but you are fundamentally lacking proper medical attention is hindering proper thought processes. Have a good weekend.

fighting, bickering like a bunch of girls in here.....nothing has changed much. Put your trades up in real time or be considered blah blah blah for the rest. Put your money where your mouth is.

Interesting comment from a guy who doesn't have ANY information on his profile and isn't showing his trades.

I think there remains good upside in gold and silver.

It will likely take 2-3 days for the market to enjoy the glow, but Greece and Spain should be coming up the rear view mirror next week. I don't think the risk-on tap will be turned on for as long as QE2. QE3 feels different than its predecessors. I don't think AUD and the commodities will rally for too long. What do you guys think? Time to slowly back the greenback?

Jaygee, you are just like Mr. Gun (aka trade police), cast a stone and expect no reaction. Mr. Trade police was quite frank and direct so i returned my frankness. I simply believe that fundamentals cannot be entirely ignored. That's all. I seemed to have "baffled" mr. Gun. Mr. Gun, actually, baffled me by the soooo many different types of assumptions and inferences he made off my simple statement. Like i said before, some are just too "smart" for their own good to the point that common sense blind folds them. In summary, i think you can go fock yourself as well and allow others to address what they must. You can have a good weekend too bud.

Barely smacked that 1.3030 by a pip; Asian market is inching up to 1.3040 Am Long at 1.3010
Strong resistance at 1.3023 / 24. No spikes and hunting stops so far.

I noticed statistically in all levels the .0010 to 0030 range is a tango, a push and pull. Funny switching from Candle to Elliot OHLC you can see the Big Boys sketch some classic patterns.

I expect a swan dive @ 1.34 level till 1.2800

Another Kraken shall be released! Pleasant weekend fellas!

all this policy statements can be easily revised in few simple sentences:

1) we take the dollars out the stocks and inject them into securities
2) we will print 40 billion more out of no where for military or scientific purposes for Rockerfeller research centeres
3) Main thing: we launch all the media to brainwash dumb zombie investors with QE3 bullshit

I think one must not ignore fundamentals. I even think that strong fundamentals must be put in the first place to be considered and put aside all the technical.
I used to be fully technical and ignored all fundamental and all I got was call margins.
Nowadays, I become more moderate by paying full attention to news at stormy days and using technical only on breezy days. Thank God, it works for me. Now I can make trading for living.

Ignored
I think gold is trying to test 1791 (in my chart), its last highest price on Feb 29.
Since this is already weekend, I don't think investor would enter the market with huge volume. In my opinion, gold will not exceed 1785 today.
If gold can go through 1791 next week, which is I feel more likely to happen, my next target is 1820.
But since I'm scalper type, I always take my profit every time price is stuck in whatever rate and enter my position again at the time the price is moving up.
Trend is still up, no matter the technical is overbought already. For the moment, I already open position @1774 -1776

I think it was more likely a profit taking action by traders who feel gold has overbought. But in my logic, there is no conditions these days that will push gold down and on the contrary, every fundamental is pushing it up

An analyst from Bloomberg even say that gold might break its highest record @1920 by the end of this year. But I can't believe that yet though it is a bigger possibility now since QE3.
My philosophy is Believing My Eyes, Not My Ears. I only believe my own reading on my own chart rather than anyone tell me about the price

I don't remember exactly every trade I made. But from the statistic that Avafx generate, my shortest Profitable Trades is 00:00:37 (37 seconds only).
The last price I can find from my Closed Positions Table is from 1746.67 to 1747.17, means only $0.50 price different. That was yesterday.

Of course, I always put SL at some certain range. But I think this is only a short drop. I'm still bullish, as the trend is.

127% .2935 broken quite well last night, am looking at 161.8% at .3182 but unless market has more emotional on pushing it up, tech should follow some poop retracement from the "overbought" (there is no overbough nor oversold definition in my dictionary).

Y do you fall into the trap of telling (though its fine since you have taken TP) to that chap's taunting. That chap had been yacking trades before June and he was totally submerged - longing, in a big yellow submarine when parasite went down big time. He was shouting at fibo levels x8, x10 long blah blah blah when the sentiment was down. I know several retail traders followed him and got sucked into a negative account and they wrote to me to ask what to do.

What happened next was I think he got wept out and he went quiet for months until he returned again last week or so yacking, guess he has recovered his loss (which is good) but one damn thing I hate is to sweeps and clean somebody's ass job at yacking. Have enough on my plate already.

So best ignore such ppls taunting. I'm not trying to be rude to anyone but when someone is causing more confusion, I gladly enlist them to the camp with the likes of the 1.36 kiddo

Gold jumped more than $35 yesterday after testing 1725.00 level which was trigger for the bullish scenario yesterday, the metal rallied sharply to reach the first target and settle above 1770.00 this morning, resuming the bullish trend after a short period of minor consolidation. The rally is supported by a strong bullish momentum, where a retest of areas around 1792-1800.00 is likely before any correction!!!

Excuse me....
My opinion is we better cooling down and stop trying to prove who's right or wrong since the most important thing is make your own profit, not showing whose prediction was more accurate. It's useless and beginning to annoy everyone I think.
Not my intention to get involved nor to be on anyone side. Sorry. But I am disturbed by all that useless debate. I think all trader in this forum will not give you a credit for blaming each other like that.

@Dr.Zain: gold is trying to break up. I think the rest of this day it will only ranging 1770-1780. For me, I'll set my TP at 1780 and see next Monday to enter the market again. I wish it hit my TP today and then retrace so I can get better entry point

It's ok - conflict and conflicting views have their place - in the end (and no matter how abrasive things get) we will all do ok.

It is fun sometimes - and other times not so much fun. But I agree it would be ideal to have collaborates discussing the best ways to trade or explaining to each other things that they wish to understand. That ideal is hard to attain (tried at first thinking it was possible). Still in all of this noise there is a lot that is useful.

One thing though - lets remain civil to one another. It is very crude nature to get all insulting and abusive simply because you disagree. Besides does not work. Cheers to all and good luck.

What can you say to "the rise of the pheonix" from his submerged yellow submarine? It was in June/July where his live shoutings got him into a spiral downward path looking at seaweeds. Good that he may have re-couped his lost, but the number of retail traders he dragged down with him previously are still in deep red. I'm not sure if he had help them at all? I doubt so.

That's when I said trade quietly. True that no one is force to follow his trades, but then follow many did.

I believe ff is for discussion, if someone is keen to post their live trades, there are better place to place n let the psych boys take care of them. I may be supersititious n daft but ain't posting live trades and risk losing pips. After all forex is about risk management So either I keep bloody quiet or post live trades and let e big boys know what you are doing.

I've never heard if a pheonix gets resurrected twice, not to mention I've yet to see any real live pheonix.

Paragraph 2 is simply amazing. There have been no net new private sector jobs created in the US in over a decade. At about 110 Milllion we are at 1999-2000 levels. During that time GDP has increased 5 Trillion per year. And we are laying off public sector employees to make it worse. The solution, set up the public for a second round of losses on their real estate when mortgages are no longer artifically supported, interest rates double, and prices fall 40% while incomes stagnate. All so the banks don't have to realize the losses from their fraud and buy the time to transfer the obligations to the GSEs. They are not central *bankers* for nothing.

Now you got me scared I want to join the FF Explorer program and leave posting in this forum and only respond to conversations about my trade? Not scared of big boys but hackers. Suppose I put out a demo equivalent just to enable a discussion of technique and trades? What do you say?
Ignored
I ain't spooking buddy, I recorded a whole list of journal events when people shouted in FF and compared that to the moves. % is scarry that it reverses path and hunt out tight SL. What I collected may be biased or uncalled for, but it was for my reference and it's scary to me. Just looked at the chap above shouting sell at .3116, the rest is history.

But if you put out a demo, to me its the same becos it's likely that you are going to trade that direction n be snooped by in ff. A buddy of mine used a private site, JoinMe or something to show his screen. Might be better that way at least you can monitor who's in n who's not.

Sanguis, thank you for posting this article. It does not alarm me as I have repeatedly stated that qe's and bond purchasas has nothing to do with rebounding an economy, but rebounding the wealthiest pockets. It's a refreshing article every newbie should read.
