  • Wow…

    From forexlive.com

That was an impressive run to take out the barrier at 1.2600 and stops just below. We printed as low as 1.25895. Expect barriers every quarter-cent lower to 1.2500 where there is a massive build-up of exotic options. Should momentum continue to the downside, that level will act as a magnet. 99.972 was the EUR/JPY low, as 100.00 barriers are erased as well.

I was betting on the anti Euro bonds from Holland, Finns etc, a bit of US data (I'm sure that was totally rigged, the prior data was supposed to be 328K but they changed it at last minute to 334K) The remaining 6K must be found in empty cities like Indiana, Ohio, etc in US of A - played dirty.

Likewise - shorting is fab at the moment whenever there is a rally.

Lets see if the immediate support S3 at .25686 can be broken. Just closed another new shorts at .2570. This new area is an unknown territory with no many RS lines, so I'll use a 25pips step close then run approach with short and long.

Merkel must be rubbing her hand together, well done Greece - I can export more Audi and BMWs now, muahahahahahahaha!

In fact there is no more RS lines on my charts until 1.24830 after 1.25686 but tread carefully with every 25pips from here.

There is absolutely no good news coming from the EUR zone. Believe me I looked. As the leaders meet the EUR goes down so enjoy the ride going down CRASH & BURN. Look for a sharp retracement and to grab some pips (scalp)

I don't think holding eur at this moment is a smart decision. So, should not invent a level to buy. In fact, the pair is dropping continuously due to these catch-a-falling-knife positions.

Not true, though I am not a bull. There are still good opportunites to long short period if you know where to catch it and I just mentioned one earlier in the post.

I agree with you about not dreaming a figure and shout it. Otherwise traders can find themselves joining the yellow submarine submerged underwater with their account, like some using fib and dtl.

Technical indicators like this are defintely good, but when in this situation, I am more incline not to believe in oversold and overbought, but rely more on RS lines + market sentimenta.

Agree that there are vanilla options and they are and may serve as magnets to retrace or pullback. But I think when there are more exotic flavours options like chocolate (new term I use instead of vanilla coz I hate vanilla), it will be pull towards the chocolate region isn't it?

Until the mess from Greece is sorted, followed by Spain and Italy. This circus will go on, at least we don't have to range for now

But looking at the Germans bund yield which is scarrily low, it may trigger big dump of euro very soon if it reaches further low yield level - then Euro zone will be in bigger crisis than ever before!!!!!!

EURO-DOLLAR: In light of the "hot knife through butter" slide through
$1.2600, Ashraf Laidi of City Index sees scope for further euro losses
"As long as major central banks refrain from giving any new liquidity in
the form of FX swaps (as in Dec 2) and the IMF remains silent before the
June 17 Greek elections, the path of least resistance for traders is to
continue selling the (euro) rallies," he says. Laidi sees sell momentum
mounting in late summer with the euro heading towards $1.20 (a matter of
"when" not "if). "In order for EURUSD to reproduce the 22% declines in
the prior two cycles of 2008 and 2010, the pair would have to reach
$1.16, which would be the lowest since 2003," he says.

:-) I've seen Eur, Gbp and yenna pairs drop 500-1000 points in one hour. But these are veeery rare. I have a sneaking suspession that this down trend in EUR/USD might end with a Grand Finale of some 300-500 points drop. Trigger could be Greak exit, or some other stuff.

Crash it won't. Simply because no 1 wants it: neither in the US, nor in EU. What they need is a little boost now. And you know what happens next? Those who are short on EUR (majority) will have a stop-loss triggered. That's what they call "easy money"

Reasons:

1.) Euro la la land is too f'ed up to crash
2.) It won't crash cos its in free space with accelerated gravity
3.) No one knows where the ground is as Euro falls in acceleration mode in free space
4.) it forgot to grab a parachute when it free fall, so it submerged into its transformer mobil, from bumble bee to a YELLOW Submarine in underwater with account

Guess these 4 reasons are sufficient to justify why Euro won't crash.

it's beautiful how markets behave. Euro has dropped on political leader's RHETORIC only. Nothing has changed from the time the price opened at 1.2900 on one Monday. I wonder what happens if pro-bailout party gets voted...I also wonder whether greeks really are THAT (*censored by myself*) to think (and vote) that they are better off not having the euro ? Do you somehow think that you will have less austerity when you leave the currency ? Now, that's a WOW !

Not really, I studied them in financial engineering as part of my MBA in Scotland. They are designed to hedge very specific situations and can be very, very useful in the corporate world. Also they are not as complex as they sound but they are OTC instruments and must suit your needs to be relevant. The Math is incredibly difficult though.

That means directions are shifting and you want to be careful tomorrow how you commit. Study COT carefully from daily charts tomorrow and next - do not say I did not tell you. Good luck to all who read this - could be shock and awe for those who do not pay attention. This is free and dependable advice.

PS: This is where correlations help as well.

Jaygee what about the 8x long eur/usd that you've had since 1.29???

I really think that you MUST be that trader who worked for JPMorgan Chase.

I dont trade unless I can find a pair that is trending. The markets in the majors are too choppy. Would have same odds at the tables in Vegas. SGDJPY is one right now, trade in direction of the Daily trend and H4. I have wide stops and macro ( or nano) lot size and risk reward ratio of 1:1.5 eg 120 pip SL and 180 pip TP. There are higher consistent profits trading longer term time frames and it gives me a break away from the computer. I check them once a day.

Euro slated to go to 1.1 by end of year. going long is dangerous against a trend this big, with causes this obvious. Wait to go long, sell on rallies as of yet.

I compare a trending market to a flower opening from its bud. The market is like an organic think, it breathes in and exhales and thee are the markets where you make profits. Trading some pairs is more like the action of a Venus fly trap if you can "see" what I mean.

I see there is no point in alerts - until the evidence is more obvious.

I agree 100%, why would you go long when the daily and weekly time frame show a clear downward trend. Its like a freight train. How can it possibly turn round on a ten cent piece. I will go long only when there is clear confirmation of a trend change.

What's the cause of this plummet? Possible Greek exit or the strong US New Home Sales?
Ignored
Usually strong home sales mean risk on, but the euro crisis has taken center stage, and not all of the US data has been all that positive. We're also in an election year.

most day traders lose money. And if you are one that makes money, be assured bthat you will make much more by trading when there are trends on the long term time frames. You will be less emotional and you will become a profitable consistent trader with just a little practise. Make sure you have a decent risk reward ratio 1:1.5 works well for me. Watch your money management (most important rule of all) dont overleverage. I get great results on these timeframes with even 1:2 leverage. I am a fund manager and offer these few tips for free instaed of waisting thousands $s on useless sytems and EAs.

my best trade in last couple of days is SHORT chfjpy based on the bullish trend on the H4 and Daily charts. I have SL based on the SL 120 pips ( i use formula ATR reading x2) and TP at 180 pips. Its has a risk reward ratio around 1:1.5

what's that old nugget? the trend is your friend? the eu has not yet begun to fall, it is just dangling it's legs over the edge getting ready to drop.
if you are not already short find a good spot and jump in, the waters fine...
Next stop 1.15 with little bounce.

Use a 21 EMA on the close. You can use it on any time frame. Sometimes market looks choppy in one time frame but there is trending in another time frame for that pair.

I made 121 greens with -26 reds last Thursday, trading eu, gu, Nu. But lost 96 pips on eu, some 20s in echf on Friday. I thought, on Friday EU will go up with profit taking. should have stuck to my sell sell sell.
