Euro Crisis To Flare In The Weeks Ahead - Irish Minister
Europe's decision to go ahead with a new fiscal union won't solve its debt crisis because the agreement doesn't include a new role for the European Central Bank, a senior Irish government minister said Sunday. Transport Minister Leo Varadkar said he expects the crisis to flare in the weeks ahead. "The problem we have does require the central bank to take on a different role. We are effectively a federation now that we have the same currency, but we don't have a central bank that acts like a Federal Reserve," Varadkar told a chat show on RTE Radio.
