    The Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH) rose by 4.1% in the 12 months to June 2025, up from 4.0% in the 12 months to May. On a monthly basis, CPIH rose by 0.3% in June 2025, compared with a rise of 0.2% in June 2024. The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 3.6% in the 12 months to June 2025, up from 3.4% in the 12 months to May. On a monthly basis, CPI rose by 0.3% in June 2025, compared with a rise of 0.1% in June 2024. Back door tax:

You lend gov money and they pay you back with less and less.

They use the cash you leant them to plug the the holes of their leaking bucket economy.

Owners of leaky buckets get away with murder. Those that own nothing get paid back with worthless printed trash.

If people catch on to the fact they are getting paid back with worthless paper, they demand they get paid back with more, or only agree to lend a much smaller amount. Then the gov doesn't have enough cash to plug holes and the economy under goes an auto restructure. This restructure involves nature redistributing wealth: The status quo powers and wealthy hate this.

All three are primarily bound by inflation. You can't stimulate real growth by cutting rates until inflation is under control.

For BOE and ECB, this is explicit in their mandate.

For FOMC; it's not explicit; they can pursue both at the same time. But would be foolish to not control inflation first.

The focus now is whether this is a temporary blip or signals deeper inflationary pressures. Seems no rate cut on August meeting from BoE!

They are trying to devalue the local currency, it's true that this will increase inflation short term but they believe it will boost the economy by creating jobs from foreign investment. Also,the demand from products will increase as prices are lowered. To tackle over inflation the government is likely to increase taxes to reduce spending. This is the theory
