    At the Monetary Policy Meeting (MPM) held today, the Policy Board of the Bank of Japan decided by a 7-2 majority vote, to set the following guideline for money market operations for the intermeeting period: 1. The Bank will encourage the uncollateralized overnight call rate to remain at around 0.25 percent. 2. Regarding the reduction of its purchase amount of Japanese government bonds (JGBs), the Bank decided, by a unanimous vote, on a plan to reduce the amount of its monthly outright purchases of JGBs so that it will be about 3 trillion yen in January-Mach 2026. will UJ drop?
They increase rate 25 bps after lot of years. The increasing rate will lead the currency yen whatever the bond purchasing cut and all eye are on it. Buy Yen long......We will see USD/JPY bearish tone always and carry it toward 140.959 as ahead of FED rate cut. I see pull down USD/JPY long and Gold will break higher high again. Well will see Gold bushish form always and it will be leading Futures metal towards 2600.
Juicy 5 minute bar with a whole lot of nothing after the jiggling. 20 minutes later and at the exact same spot as prior.

Definition of a "non event" (in the immediacy anyway....tomorrow may be different?)

---> If you can, I recommend holding on with a long-term viewpoint. I am also net short the JPY. The 'carry trade' (with some chart viewing, of course) allows a trader to get paid daily, and one can generate long-term profits - although obviously patience is required. Don't be greedy, and you might do better than you'd expect. (^^)

You're asking, "will UJ drop?" - but in my informed opinion, that is a nonsensical question. Of course USD-JPY will drop - but it will also rise. What time frame are you asking about? // Ultimately, if you're asking such a question on an online comment board - and expecting a worthwhile answer from a total stranger - then YOU.ARE.NOT.PREPARED.TO.TRADE.FOREX. (Focus instead on self-improvement, improving your job skills, deepening your personal relationships, etc. Those will be FAR better uses of your time!) // I wish you all the best.
