  • ‘De-Dollarization’? Don’t Believe the Hype

    From etftrends.com

Since World War II, the US Dollar (USD) has served as the world’s preeminent ‘reserve currency’ – the means of exchange for most of the rest of the world to do business. From central bank holdings to international commerce and commodity transactions, the USD has reigned supreme, commanding between close to 90% of the world’s foreign currency exchange (FX) transactions (see chart, below). For years we have fielded questions about how long the USD could maintain its reserve currency status, as threats emerged from both within (related to instability and high debt levels of the US economy) as well as abroad, ... It's a known fact that US is in decline......the world just refuses to wake up to reality and who to champion next to be the "king of the world".

A country that has no moral yet lecturing\policing others about moral and rights.....laughable. Anyway, not here to bash the remaining nice Americans there are left (but not many are left to be honest).

Happy trading to all this week.

I agree with the first part, the US politics is a joke, but as for regular people, most people in the US are very pleasant(just as everywhere in the world). There is a big disconnect between the regular people and those who run the country and are no better than their Russian or Chinese counterparts.
Everyone can see the chart, but only a few can actually read it.

History always repeats itsself in marktets, economy and so will it be in the world. Step by step moving closer to WOIII for world dominance, power, technology, food and clean water. 2024 might be a perfect storm with the war in Ukraine still going on, US Elections (Trump vs Biden) and Taiwain Elections: perfect excuse for Xi Xing Ping to attack and surprise the West.

Both Chinese and Russian people vote, of course, but they have limited pre-approved choices. Sound familiar? Yeah, kind of like the system in the US, where you basically only have 2 parties(both having the same sponsors) and those even choose who you can vote for. Just an illusion of democracy.
Everyone can see the chart, but only a few can actually read it.

There are a lot of "nice"American people but it is these people that are voting for the likes of Trump because they are tired of the Elite living off the sweat of the "nice" people. Look what the UK people did to Cameron and his "austerity" tory govt: grabbed the opportunity to strike out and express their anger by voting for Brexit. ( not commenting on the fallout from Brexit here)
If the Americans could find a YOUNGER presidential candidate that related to them rather than en Elite intent on preserving privilege, then I am sure they would vote for him/her.

The US voting system is no different from any commie "voting" system...when your politicians decide for you that your only choice is Trump or Hillary, the system sucks.

Like I wrote. If the nice people don't have a "voice" then who do they vote for. Trump was , sadly, the only available alternative to the elite. And it seems you need millions to Get a "voice" and become a politician. Rules out a lot of "nice" ordinary people?

Trump is not a problem...a president is only a puppet...Look at institutions like CIA, NSA, etc...they have the most power. And then of course the biggest companies like BlackRock, Vanguard, etc. Politicians don't have the power to change anything in the US and nothing will ever change for the ordinary people.
Everyone can see the chart, but only a few can actually read it.

Trump is not a problem?? I have no further comments on that nor do I have any +ve comments for the current admin or previous. Lesser of the two evil at that time of voting - I believe I stated this during your recent potus election.

Here in UK, once we get rid of the current tory government, we will be getting a Labour government who is likely to behave pretty much the same as the current tory lot. But hey, anything but the serial liar lardy boris is better than nothing at all!

It is when people are let down by the so called elites that voters WILL vote for any alternatives, doesn't matter young or old, that's why we have idiots like farage flooding our UK media prime time day in day out. And there are NICE people who will actually vote for such populists!

BTW, good to define NICE. Nice but ignorant to current affairs is somewhat more dangerous than those scheming politicians. This is one of the tools that government in Uk has been using for quite a while, the fewer literates there are despite free education for all till 18, the easier to control the voting tickets through rubbish propaganda news (any different from China?? Nah). But saying this, many who are so called literates, who are NICE people, don't even know the difference between their left and right! So the chasm in between the L/R has been flooded with populist opportunists, that messed up the own pot and breaks down a country!

Anyway, am reiterating the fact that usa is in decline - steep decline. UK is not much better. Where there is no moral left in a country, it simply goes downhill, period

All of the West is on a decline. Sometimes I think its done on purpose, because the people in power surely can't be this stupid.

Those BRIC countries are so corrupt that most businesses won't operate there. They will become puppets of the ruling elite and their countries raped of their natural resources (see Haiti)
