    The Producer Price Index for final demand fell 0.1 percent in August, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Final demand prices decreased 0.4 percent in July and advanced 1.0 percent in June. (See table A.) On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand moved up 8.7 percent for the 12 months ended in August. In August, the decrease in the index for final demand is attributable to a 1.2-percent decline in prices for final demand goods. In contrast, the index for final demand services advanced 0.4 percent.   • Wholesale prices fell 0.1% in August amid inflation fears

    The prices that producers receive for goods and services declined in August, a mild respite from inflation pressures that are threatening to send the U.S. economy into recession. The producer price index, a gauge of prices received at the wholesale level, declined 0.1%, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report Wednesday. Excluding food, energy and trade services, core PPI increased 0.2%. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting headline PPI to decline 0.1% and core to rise 0.3%. PPI precedes CPI
costs to producers have increased, theoretically they have to pass on to consumers. that is, CPI tends to continue increasing
CPI higher equals need to increase interest
so THEORETICALLY it's good for USD
Follow the waves, follow the trend. The trend is your frend. Buy USD & lock-in your profit before the FOMC meeting next week.

you clearly need to do some research.
Continues dollar rise means much suffering for the rest of the world.
The biggest take away from today and yesterday's data is that we are still seeing interest rates and inflation travel in the same direction. This is true despite the FED's effort to curve inflation. Tomorrow with retail sales we will see how the consumer is appealing to the rise of inflation amid rising rates. Our market(s) are very data dependent and really these variables will give us a better understanding in regards to the FED's next move this coming week. Will FED push rates by 75 or 100bps? That will most likely give us our next trend wave. For now we sit in a volatile range.
