  • Consumer Price Index - August 2022

    The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose 0.1 percent in August on a seasonally adjusted basis after being unchanged in July, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 8.3 percent before seasonal adjustment. Increases in the shelter, food, and medical care indexes were the largest of many contributors to the broad-based monthly all items increase. These increases were mostly offset by a 10.6-percent decline in the gasoline index. The food index continued to rise, increasing 0.8 percent over the month as the food at home index rose ... There have not been two consecutive CPI releases against the dollar in the past 12 months. This makes us understand how the data are not reliable when viewed month by month. Where is the peak of inflation now????

Problem is, more rate hikes wont reverse the global headwinds. I am all for 4% interest rate by the end of the year, but going beyond that wont help with the war in Ukraine or the supply chain problems.

Why people insist on fighting the trend for the US dollar leaves me baffled. It was only a matter of time EU was going to start trending back to the downside. The H4 'bullish' price action had little volume, that was a strong enough sign to not buy, or at least exit positions.

I know what you are saying. I'm going with 4,25 or even 4,5 for a healthy real rate (but this is for next year). A lot of cheap money has to be wiped out. There were too many years with zero rates and this is not healthy. Let's see wat will be the outcome of this war.

Inflasi US Agustus (CPI) ternyata lebih tinggi dari yang diperkirakan oleh Para Ekonom.
Dengan US Core CPI (inflasi selain makanan & energi) telah naik tajam sebesar 0,6% dibandingkan dengan 0,3% ekspektasi ekonom.
Kemudian US CPI (inflasi barang & jasa) juga naik sebesar 0,1% dibandingkan dengan ekspektasi ekonom yang turun sebesar -0,1%.

I always favored FX trading opposed to stocks/indices. It is much easier for me not to have a bias in FX and simply just trade the charts. Up n down.
