They have a trade surplus of 250 billions dollars and from now on they sell gas and petrol in rubles. Also the rubles are backed by gold.

No man, you are living in the past or you doesn't understand how the trade surplus/deficit works.
Now with the embargo they don't import goods and services, they don't spend on European services (tourism and transport to EU is almost zero). But they sell gas and petrol to all countries at very good price.

I feel that I am wasting my time. Go and look at the Tass stated gas sales for April. It is down ro 56Ml from the average 109 Ml so it has contracted by half already during April and the EU stated policy is to cut it to zero over time. The same will happen to oil in the mid-term and then the golden goose will stop laying eggs and europe wont put their foot in that beartrap again
So as I said the golden days for russia will be over soon

I really want to see that Europe will cut at zero. It will be a funny day for European people. It is like saying that they will stop drinking water.

    From bankofcanada.ca|Apr 25, 2022

Good morning. I’m pleased to be here with Senior Deputy Governor Carolyn Rogers to discuss our recent policy announcement and the Bank of Canada’s Monetary Policy Report (MPR). We published our MPR as Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine entered its eighth week. The war is causing tremendous human suffering, and our hearts go out to the Ukrainian people. The war has also injected new uncertainty into the global economic outlook. It is boosting already high inflation in many countries, including Canada, and it is disrupting the global recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Against this backdrop we have three main messages. First, the Canadian economy is strong. Overall, the economy has fully recovered from the pandemic, and it is now moving into excess demand. Second, inflation is too high. It is higher than we expected, and it’s going to be eleva tweet at 11:02am: Bank of Canada’s Macklem Says Inflation Is Too High and It’s Going to Be Elevated for Longer Than We Previously Thought Macklem Reiterates That Canada Needs Higher Interest Rates tweet at 11:03am: BOC'S GOV.
