  • Monetary tightening brought forward

    From rbnz.govt.nz

A larger move now also provides more policy flexibility ahead in light of the highly uncertain global economic environment. ... (full story)

I believe this move to the downside after such a positive news is to shake out weak buyers. In a few hours, I believe that we will be making a higher high in NzdUsd.

More often than not it's more profitable to be patient than to react on the initial spike... I'm still learning this every trading day

monetary tightening my ass. i know from a source, putin has not decided on that one yet, as it is a low priority for him... if something goes wrong in NZ banking, you know now who took all the responsibility for... thank me later.

They hiked .50 but did not lift their projected OCR peak (3.35%).
If they lifted to 3.6% and took into account the extra 0.25 then expected, it would be hawkish.
I think they believe that at one point but the end of the year inflation will start cooling down. So watch next nz inflation data
