  • Ukraine forces retake areas north of Kyiv as Russians look eastward

    From reuters.com

Ukrainian forces were advancing on Saturday into areas north of Kyiv littered with debris and destroyed Russian tanks as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy accused departing Russian soldiers of leaving behind mines. Ukrainian presidential adviser Okeksiy Arestovych said Ukrainian troops had retaken more than 30 towns and villages in the region since Russia announced this week it would scale down operations around the capital to focus on battles in the east. British military intelligence said Russian troops had abandoned Hostomel airport in a northwestern suburb of the capital, where there had been fighting since ... (full story)

The pictures coming out of there are horrific. No other way to describe it than calling it what it is--genocide of Ukrainian males. There's always isolated incidents of civilian abuse during any occupation because of individual idiot soldiers. However, there's an entire town with a mass grave where Russian soldiers went house to house and killed all the men--leaving their bodies to rot in the street. A mass killing like that was ordered from a higher up.

Russian propaganda is very intoxicating and persuasive. Sadly the lower the IQ, the more likely someone will fall victim and become a pro Putin internet keyboard warrior.

Russian hordes could not be better than that. It is their historical signature, wherever they have been. When the Russians entered Berlin in 1945, in the first days they raped 100,000 woman ... history is silent about these crimes and now we have the same story in Ukraine.
Ukraine is eternally lost to any Russian influence and so it should be. Russian politics is incapable of any kind of inclusion, as it has been for centuries...
One only needs to look at that belt of countries that were in the former zone of influence of the USSR. Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, the Baltic countries ... no one wants to deal with the Russians. Why? The answer is more than simple ...

Just horrific that russians are shielding themselves with children bodies or taking children as hostages to protect.

Civilian bodies left on the streets, mass graves made in playgrounds.

Horrific inhumane scenes and for what?

Amazing how your leader is able to pervert the truth, and then instill these recreated mantra's so firmly into your feeble mind. We pray for you and those likeminded that eventually truth will come to you.

Your lack of 'Putin Trolls' may be something to do with admin here blocking anyone who doesn't swallow the US/NATO narrative on Ukraine.

Not looked much into these supposed massacres of Ukrainian civilians by Russian troops although there are videos around claiming they are staged on account of moving corpses being caught on camera.

If they were staged, then it would be in keeping with literally every other bit of war 'information' coming from the Ukrainian side. From footage from video games, to Zelensky walking around Ukrainian hospitals with vending machines that accept only Polish coins, from outlandish claims of Russia losing 1000 troops and 50 fighter jets every day. Ukraine misinformation agents even using videos and images of crimes that their own neo-nazi battalions committed as 'evidence of Russian atrocities'.

Ukraine are big time b.s. merchants, and they aint even good at it. Thing is though, once you whip an emotional frenzy in the masses, facts don't really seem to matter.

Absolutely true, which is why, when the Soviet Union fell, these countries knew that is just a matter of time before befrore the Russian butchers would be back, they lined up, desperate to join Nato. The invasion of and rape and slaughter of non Nato Ukraine is confirmation of their worst fears.

True. Proven in all past relations between Russians and their neighbors. I hate to say it, but Russia is incapable of democracy and it is not the only one on this planet. It is a non-inclusive country, immersed in its imperial dream, which will never come true. This is the second phase of its decline (after the collapse of the USSR), the likelihood that it will disintegrate into several smaller states is increasing from year to year. A country with such natural resources, 11 time zones (nine of them do not have internet) ... so it is simply a historical shame to be so backward ...
