    From tmz.com

Until recently, you probably couldn't get your hands on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s handwritten draft of his book, but now things have changed ... if you have $225,000 that is! That's right. BoC Overall Business Outlook Survey Q4: 6.0; Future Sales: 3.0

    From @LiveSquawk|Jan 17, 2022

tweet at 10:30am: BoC Overall Business Outlook Survey Q4: 6.0 (prev 4.7) - Business Outlook Future Sales: 3.0 (prev 9.0) tweet at 10:30am: BOC Q4 SURVEY OF CONSUMER EXPECTATIONS SAYS PEOPLE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT INFLATION NOW THAN BEFORE PANDEMIC, BELIEVE IT HAS BECOME MORE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL #News #Forex #PANDEMIC #BOC #INFLATION tweet at 10:30am: Firms see increasing labor shortages and wage pressures - Bank of Canada survey - Reuters https://t.co/nlFTHFNez4Business Outlook Survey - Fourth Quarter of 2021 In the fourth-quarter 2021 Business Outlook Survey, reports of supply chain bottlenecks and labour shortages remain elevated. Firms cited robust growth in demand, although those offering hard-to-distance services still had sales below pre-pandemic levels, even before the Omicron variant began spreading broadly. The combination of strong demand and bottlenecks in supply is expected to put upward pressure on prices over the next year. Overview • Interviews for the Business Outlook Survey (BOS) were conducted before the rapid increase in COVID?19 cases due to the Omicron variant. • Overall, a broadening set of firms saw a solid recovery in sales supported by strengthening domestic and foreign demand. As restrictions on in-person activities eased, sales for businesses providing hard-to-distance services improved but are still below pre-pandemic levels. The outlook for firms that fared well through the COVID?19 pandemic remains robust. At the same time, more firms reported impacts from labour shortages and supply chain disruptions, including a continued drag on their sales. Reports of capacity pressures were widespread.Canadian Survey of Consumer Expectations - Fourth Quarter of 2021 This survey took place in November 2021 before the Omicron variant of COVID?19 began spreading broadly in Canada.1 In December, the number of COVID?19 cases rose dramatically and governments began to reimpose containment measures. Overview • Many Canadians think inflation will be high over the next two years because of supply disruptions caused by the pandemic. They are more concerned about inflation now than they were before the pandemic and believe it has become more difficult to control. • Near-term inflation expectations are not feeding into longer-term expectations. This suggests that expectations remain well anchored. • Although consumers anticipate significant price increases in the near term, they believe their wage increases will be relatively stable. • Showing confidence in the labour market, workers are more likely than ever to want to change jobs. Another sign of strength in the labour market is that most people are working more hours than they would like to. Marginalized individuals, however, want to work more hours than they currently do.
