The problem is that those indicators appear designed for strictly increasing and strictly decreasing functions or partial functions (in other words, purely monotonic flows). But because the market is nonmonotonic market fluctuations naturally whipsaw such slave codes. In a sense they are almost useless in the environment they are setup to measure in terms of timing trades, etc. If this were not true ---------> dailyfx would not have to tell anyone about them because everyone would know them by how much enters your pocket per period using them. As things stand, the rational suggestion, advice or encouragement (pick any), is to use them as a part of other similarly flawed mix of indicators. No one can make money directly from timing moves with them and that tells you a lot.

BTW: "Keep it simple stupid" is much abused in talk about indicators given that you cannot keep it stupid simple, when it is not simple. Entries/exits are difficult not because traders do not keep it simple but because markets are chaotic and subject to what is known as sensitivity to initial conditions (which means orbits for the variable price are so dense that points arbitrarily close to each other exhibit vastly different trajectories). This is the so-called butterfly effect and you simply cannot keep it simple in the face of such phenomena. Show me a trader on earth who has overcome chaos by keeping it simple from just his/her vastness of experience and therefore know how in consistent timing and entry. The facts of profitability associated with trading do not bear that out. So you really cannot keep it simple stupid, when it is not simple.

If indicators worked, we'd all be billionaires. But the truth is, they don't and trading companies know it. That's why they push indicators - they know they'll have your money in no time flat. Ever heard of the 90-90-90 rule? 90% of traders will lose 90% of their accounts in 90 days - brokers live for it. Sorry, but indicators are a waste of time.

Funny how these people keep pushing indicators, as if they worked. They show charts that show they work. but look for the exceptions, the many times they DO NOT WORK if you decide to study the indicators. It is a good study...and your conclusion should be that they do not work well enough to make money for you. Just use your eyes, and look at the charts, see what it did before with the way it is acting now. It does reveal itself.

partly true, indicators are helpful when used correctly but shouldn't be the deciding factor as to what and when to trade they are by design lagging and cannot be used the same all the time as market structures change. Understanding price action is paramount in technical analysis. There are simple MACD systems that constantly make money they are just boring as hell and they require nerve to hold through the drawdowns which is where I believe that 90% lose their money. I wonder how accurate the 90 90 90 actually is? I have heard variations of it. Also brokers don't want you to fail that's tinfoil hat talk, they make no money when you quit they want you to trade and pay commission till the cows come home. It would be a piss poor business plan to lose 90% of your customers in 3 months. I learnt option trading from some of the free courses my brokerage offered and looking back they were well done so from my perspective they want me to succeed. I suppose I can't speak for all though.
