  • Biden says he has not spoken with Fed Chair Powell

    From reuters.com

U.S. President Joe Biden said on Tuesday he has not spoken to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, noting the central bank is an independent agency. “I think the Federal Reserve is an independent operation and starting off my presidency I want to be real clear that I’m not going to do the kinds of things that have been done in the last administration,” Biden told reporters. Biden still has significant room to make his mark on the Fed. Powell’s term is up next February, when Biden can choose to extend his appointment, and there is an empty seat on the Fed’s Board of Governors. Biden already withdrew former ... (full story)

"If the Fed wants to print money, I wouldn't want to interfere", is how that sounds. Why is this administration already sounding as bad as the last?

No, of course, Joe B. does not have the need to do so ... Yanet does the job, of course.

Monetary flexibility is The System, and there's no other way to avoid severe depression.
The problem is the morons of the world here and everywhere, on every forum who looks at the federal budget as a zero-sum game.
It is not. Never been and it never will be a zero-sum game.

Conspiracy moment - I sometimes wonder whether the elites make things broke deliberately.

To provide them with an excuse for proposing "reforms" that would be otherwise unacceptable to most people and countries if things were not broke.

Watch this space for updates on American world domination.

Same squad of cranky losers
Who said the pie doesn't have an end ? Only it's not where you think it is... like there are 7 years now since you experts cry about imminent hyperinflation.
2. without "endless" stimulus the 40% would hold ...a black hole by now.

You agreeing to save all those zombies rather than any pain at all says it all.
Let us know how big the pie can be over its actual size ,without any increase in productivity.

Biden is incapable of running anything. A puppet to be trotted out for well practiced appearances while President Harris do things. But not the border in her case despite being given that portfolio two weeks ago.

In constitutional monarchies this is a virtue. The less that the Head of State actually does (although they do have significant reserve powers), the better.

Come on, Bones !! This crier outmoded rethoric all over again and again...

Yeah, maybe is too much to say that zombies are in fact trying to save the world, but I guess massive state support and structural works is some pretty wise thing to do when such a crisis hits us all.

What do you suggest ?
Austerity disguised in "honorable financial responsability" ? This would throw us into a bigger crisis.
Assault the rich and crash their piggy boxes and give it to the poor ? Come on, ..another "revolution" ?
Obviously you like the pain !
It gets boring.

Don't worry - unless the rich won't stuff those new hot printed money under their matresses forever or send it to Mars - that money will return to work for the economy sooner or later, directly or indirectly through various forms of investment...

Sudden consumer spending heating up in near term and inflation are still the biggest problem of this strategy..

Love your pics though

well the answer isn't printing money and giving it to the rich because thats what's happening ,
money is power and they won't let go

I can't rewind time but it all goes wrong when you create a too big to fail situ and wonder off all known rules, to the point your breaking federal law to do it, under the umbrella of a crisis.

At macro level, the money of the rich don't fly to Mars.
They'll be around working for the economy in one way or another.
Well, yes, your pokets may be empty, but mind that a revolution with you, vigilantes, might leave your pokets even more empty than they already are !!
It's nice to see you never change, Bones !
Keep it up!
Cheeriooo!...

Your first line is the one that really riles me. I don't want /need a handout. But the new cantillionaire class where much is being gained for very little effort.
Wouldn't mind so much if the jobs these cronys poported to do for these vast fees actually got done.
Why the are we bothering with paying tax these days? It just seems a strange pointless endeavour......
