  • Hundreds join 'kill the bill' rallies across Britain against proposed protest law

    Hundreds of demonstrators joined marches and rallies across Britain on Saturday as part of a “national weekend of action” against a proposed new law that would give police extra powers to curb protests. The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts bill would toughen measures officers can take to disperse demonstrations, such as imposing time and noise limits, which campaigners and activists fear would be used to curb dissent. Since the bill was brought before parliament last month, there have been sporadic protests, notably in Bristol, southwest England, where demonstrations turned violent with officers and a police ... Saw it with my own eyes. They can browse inside of people's accounts easily, like the admin of the website would do.

Why would they admit it publicly? That would be a very stupid thing to do on their part.

The UK has been a police sate forever. Its citizens are "subjects of the Crown". The nearest the UK came to 'freedom' was being conscripted into the EU by the last labour government.

The police are being bestowed with more and more powers. They are not liable for damage caused in pursuit of their 'business'. Which means that they can crash and trash your house under pretext of the prevention of terrorism Act and there is nothing you can do about it.

So... continuing down this path is only going to get worse in terms of riots and the like.

You have actually seen this backdoor being used to access personal information from a major Social media site. ... personally.. Presumably in a Government security establishment environment like for example GCHQ?

Thats the funny thing...it wasn't in a "security establishment"...I will not go into detail, but a friend showed me and he wasn't very high ranked either, just more or less a regular employee. Its not only about social media, all software companies create backdoors...microsoft, apple, etc...there is no anonymity online whatsoever.

Oh ..look dont worry.. I dont disagree with principle that there is little anonymity for normal SM users.

From what I remember, Snowden was talking about the same in his book, but i saw it many years before that. You would think its only possible in the US, since those social media companies are located there, but apparently they work with police all over the world.

But well...people shouldn't share every minute of their life on social media and everything they do.
