Producer price inflation, UK: January 2021
The headline rate of output inflation for goods leaving the factory gate was negative 0.2% on the year to January 2021, up from negative growth of 0.5% in December 2020. The price for materials and fuels used in the manufacturing process showed positive growth of 1.3% on the year to January 2021, up from positive growth of 0.6% in December 2020. Petroleum products was the largest downward contributor to the annual rate of output inflation, whilst metals and non-metallic minerals provided the largest upward contribution to the annual rate of input inflation.
