    From theguardian.com

Workers at fast-food restaurant chains in 15 cities around the US went on strike on Tuesday demanding a raise in their minimum wage to $15 an hour. The workers at McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s, joined by home care and nursing home workers, took action as the Biden administration is attempting to push through an increase in the federal minimum wage from $7.25, in what would be the first increase in since 2009. Strikes occurred in Charleston, South Carolina; Chicago; Flint and Detroit, Michigan; Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina; Houston; Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, Florida; St. Louis; Oakland, Sacramento, ... Biden is a politician, tonight he back tracked and said, “... it needs to be gradual”, when asked about the increase to $15/hour, he then went on to end his answer by saying, “I support a $15/hour minimum wage”.

Can’t give a straight answer, tries to please all of the people all of the time.

I thought Biden got them covered.
Take my view with a pinch of salt!

from $7.25 to $15, inflation must be at least triple the size.

I didn't know that. Do people stay on that wage permanently? Or is it like a starting thing, and they progress?

I know that in countries with a relatively high minimum wage it can be permanent. If ya don't like it, you leave (or maybe promoted to another status if possible) and are replaced from an abundant pool of unemployed people.

Since you are at a comparison UK has minimum wage of $12.09 an hour.
Please don't compare like this. $7.25 is low for USA, it should be $15 in time, no one can double it overnight. If you keep the workforce at low wages the the country will not progress, and inflation will have to be kept low.

If you increase wages for the workers. Everything else goes up to cover this cost. Now the sneaky bit is you pay more tax as you are earning more. Bumbling career bureaucrats will say anything to stay
on the massive salaries.

That's OK. People might seek healthier and cheaper alternatives, but I digress.

The places that have increased minimum wage to $15 already have seen significant benefits due to the extra money in circulation. The ones that do take a hit are often (not-always) the people exploiting the lower wage workers. Everybody has an opinion on it and there are pro's and con's like everything else but anyplace that has done it seems to have good results. Its funny we don't mind Alice Walton making 8 Million dollars a day but we resent Alice Parker getting an hourly increase to $15 per hour. Myself I have been fortunate enough in my life to make decent money and I don't mind paying a bit more for products if it benefits others. I do however avoid those businesses who exploit their workers. Each to his/her own.

I thought the UK was the home of slave wages and worker exploitation. Seems the USA are also happy exploiting lower paid workers in the catering, services and caring industries.

The official unemployment rate in South Africa Is 42.6%, so minimum wage generally means max wage. To compare in South Africa a Mac Burger costs R31 or $2.13
