Labour market statistics provide a picture of the New Zealand labour market, including unemployment and employment rates, demand for labour, and changes in wages and salaries. In the December 2020 quarter, compared with the September 2020 quarter: • Unemployment rate fell to 4.9 percent. • Underutilisation rate fell to 11.9 percent. • Employment rate rose to 66.8 percent. • Average ordinary time hourly earnings rose to $34.14.
