-Consumer prices remain particularly soft in hard-hit sectors
-Pandemic has left significant imprint on inflation
-Increase in B/S has materially eased financial conditions and is providing substantial support to the economy

"WE BELIEVE THE BALANCE SHEET INCREASE HAS SUPPORTED THE ECONOMY".
Yep, that was the idea.

"Consumer prices remain particularly soft in hard-hit sectors
-Pandemic has left significant imprint on inflation
-Increase in B/S has materially eased financial conditions and is providing substantial support to the economy
-Essential to preserve flow of credit"

In the absence of natural, healthy market and economic corrections/repercussions for over reaching market greed, it seems the US is moving towards utter reliance on this policy to sustain itself.

Increase in B$
ha...ha...
says it all !

yes and because the inflation of credit is necessary to keep the whole Fiat money ponzi scheme going.
artificially creating money out of thin air simply devalues the existing buying power of pre-existing currency and forces any one with money to buy real asset classes as a hedge,
and not to mention the diversion of this artificial money into speculation on the stock market.

Powell needs to brush up on a few thousand years of monetary history to see the real effect of his "B$"
