Japan machinery orders edge up 0.2% on month in Aug
Japan's core private-sector machinery orders edged up 0.2 percent in August from the previous month for the second straight monthly increase, following gradual resumption of business activity amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, government data showed Monday. The orders, which exclude those for ships and from electricity utilities due to their volatility, totaled 752.49 billion yen ($7.1 billion), according to the Cabinet Office.
