I highly doubt ...
Small accounts can only lead to disaster to my knowledge.
Unless you have high leverage.
You need good amount of capital in order to make $ in FX.
Otherwise your target is too high and you can't reach it.
It's not even worth your time and effort.

For in US, If I spent 1 hr of my time and only making $10..
I would rather go to work and earn that .. than sitting at Forex for $10/hr.
The thing is you can't make consistence profit in Forex.
It's not easier, unless you design an EA and let it run by itself.
But if you have work too many hours just to earn small $.

I traded on a small account for years, however as aarontdang stated, it can be disastrous. The problem I found was even though I thought I had quelled the greed monster, you feel as if you need to take bigger risk then your account can afford. Because, when you are winning, well you know the deal, your Armour is strong, you've got the best system and discipline in the world so in turn you up your lots or leverage and of course BAM!!! you sink yourself.

I live in the U.S. and Thailand, living in Thailand and trading became extremely monotonous, with my small retirement and trading I could do ok, even with draw downs. However, discipline plays a major role, but being under funded can be demoralizing at times as the greed monster will sneak up on you as you think you should be making more money spending all these hours behind your computer, but don't have the necessary funds for the bigger returns.

OK.... No, you won't make a living starting with a $200 account if you withdraw profits each week/month.
But if you follow your sentence ........ turn small amounts into larger amounts....
Then yes, you could eventually make a living. Not from week 1. But eventually depending on your needs
