NFP March 9

I just got the ADP numbers which were 57, so i'm thinking NFP will be aroun 80. If i'm right, i show u guys how i did the calculation

I would be very interested to see those calculations you are about to post here!

If ADP numbers are likely to accurately forcast the NFP numbers, that would mean ADP will become a market mover big time

However, the difference between forcasted value and the real value is too big, so I wonder if same stuff could happen in the future

Be careful using these guys' numbers traders!

Well, it's busy day tomorrow - Ind Prod out of UK, CAD Employment (which has recently been a huge mover), NFP,US Trade Balance and CAD trade balance at the same time. I hate NFP anyway - and often don't trade it as it scares me . But alongside Trade Balance it could be tricky. Any ideas how you're gonna play this anyone? I might just hide behind the sofa until it's all over

NFP used to be the palm sweating moment for traders last time..

i think now..can also be considered that way..but most traders quite trading NFP i guess

my - what a dud. Not so scary after all, the analysts were spot on this month - so i assume people were trading the 35k revisions. CAD trade balance was the best option today

This NFP will not going anywhere, same as NFP february
After all, manage to get small pips

All in all got few pips hope you all did better

Two months in a row now the NFP has produced no more than a ripple in the pond. Only caught a few pips out of that move.

2K, the smallest deviation ever, I think :
What 2K can do to the market.. and Trade Balance is the king of pre-release price retracement.

2 nfp's in a row making very little impact - maybe news trading really is dead.

cable is disppointing the only pair to whipsaw, hit a small stop loss.... the other major pairs should give nice pips although not a lot.

greenback failed to fight the pound..
luckly didnt enter at GU...nice 17 pips from EU...

Stop complaining getting only a few pips or so.. better a winner than looser no matter the pip counts are.

Bottom Line: No whipsaw, profit = happy weekend. I know I do.

First of all, markets where clearly being long before the release. The attention this month's adp report drew ( not so much being transformed into price action) set the stage.

Now that the numbers came in cable went straight down 50 pips. What more can you expect. The numbers that we got were better than most prominently forecasted. Especially the rate of unemployment was much better than market expectations.

After that move that was triggered by the better than expected numbers, not much happened after.

Why ? Well the numbers where alright but neither too good nor too bad. A lot of speculations going on before the release how bad it could be but what we actually saw ( or to be more precisely, what the preliminary numbers showed us) was little more than nothing.

All in all the numbers where alright but nothing too dramatic.

From that point of view, it was still a good nfp since there was no whipsaw.
