Hey everyone,
I was looking through youtube, what I could find on trading content, and I was, well... absolutely shocked. Endless videos of systems showing 10000% profit with just 100$ in 2 weeks!!! kind of youtube channels. Every system they show is a clear winner! And whats more, if you look at the comments... holy moly. I thought I could not believe my eyes. So many, generic comments, all following the same pattern, all voted up into oblivion, talking about how investing with X was changing their lives bla bla bla. In short, just fake, automated comments, which, well, fit just nicely with the content, to be honest. Those channels get a lot of views, and while the question is, are the views fake too, I think they still may be successful to some extent, because they sell HOPE. Given that most traders don't succeed, hope is in high demand.
Which leads me to my question. Would you guys be interested in a youtube channel that truthfully looks at trading system, PROPERLY backtests them (I would restrict my testing only to systems that can be automated with reasonable effort), and shares the results? IMHO, I think that 99% of videos on that channel would follow the same exact pattern: backtest the system, and the results show it does not work. Because in the universe of trading systems, most actually don't work. Thats not selling hope. thats, well... the truth, at least thats what I expect the testing results would show. While I think this kind of channel would bring good, productive content, I somehow doubt that it would be successful. Who would want to be confronted with an ever increasing amount of failing systems? I suspect the average viewer to having money problems, to be struggeling with trading, and the last thing they need would be content that shows them, well, the system you're trading is actually not better than random trades...
Would you guys see potential in content like this? Would you like to watch this? What are your thoughts?
