    The Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs will meet in open session to conduct a hearing entitled, “The Semiannual Monetary Policy Report to the Congress.” The witness will be The Honorable Jerome H. Powell, Chairman, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. All hearings are webcast live and will not be available until the hearing starts. Individuals with disabilities who require an auxiliary aid or service, including closed captioning service for webcast hearings, should contact the committee clerk at 202-224-7391 at least three business days in advance of the hearing date.

He said they want to stop supporting the Repo market, but they cant' until the market stabilizes...

Time for the banks to start making the hard decisions that will allow them to stay open WITHOUT the FED's continual support.

Looks like the Balance Sheet needs to stay at around 4.3T for things to function properly.

It means the USD will continue to strengthen. As long as they leave the Balance Sheet where it is... They may be trying to support our other trade partners. If they would lower the interest rates and start any kind of QE all the other nations that are not doing so well would have to follow.

The problem is that the US dollar cant strengthen because it would make financing the debt worse.

I agree about the rush to cut by other nations

Whew! If we dive into the debt discussion we will be here for a long time...

I think it can strengthen. Because the FED mandate is price stability they will always be there to purchase Gov't issued debt. And they are there to back our banks to uphold liquidity for private finance.

It won't be fun though when they begin QE again to avoid the inevitable deflation.

And you are correct. Monetizing debt to increase your money supply is a bad idea. Only one way to go eventually!

The dollar will sky rocket. Because this market is up on worthless sentiment. This debt is all on trump now. Je jad 4 yrs to reduce it simce obama left. He made it worse. This is all his now
