I have not posted anything for a while so I think it is time to change that. I suggest a competition on the largest stop hunt caught by traders.
My entry would be for Vantage FX. See the chart attached from my live account with them – the stop hunt down was 98 pips and the corresponding spread at that very moment was 102 pips.
Interestingly enough it was not present on their demo account, see the second chart attached – the same candle was 0 pips from the high to the low.
I suggest using 1 min chart as these things are typically happening very fast.
Just in case if you are not aware, if you want to catch that you should use IND_Monitoring-Spread or similar indicator, I attached it below. I changed the colors so that the highest spread numbers are in red, the default indicator highlights the colors differently.
A typical indicator showing the spread in the corner of your chart won’t catch any of that as those are instantaneous spikes lasting milliseconds. But they will still stop your trades if the stop is anywhere within their reach, be assured.
So, 94 pips stop hunt on GBPNZD with 102 pips spread, is a competitor No 1. Almost the same crazy numbers but a bit smaller were on EURNZD that day so I am only coming up with one entry.
Higher numbers, anybody?
