I read through the forums quite a bit just to hear what traders have to say. The one thing I often see is people disputing the validity of many trading strategies like Elliott Wave, Harmonic Trading, etc. I wanted to know from those of you who have been consistently profitable, what strategy of method do you use? I see a lot of "this doesn't work" but not a lot of "this has worked consistently". So this is a thread of the successful ways to navigate the forex market.

People who are consistently profitable aren't going to put their hands up in a thread like this, because they instantly get attacked by chumps yelling down the house that it isn't possible, and demanding to see "proof" in the form of trade explorers or whatever other gimmick they consider valid. So these threads only attract wannabe traders spouting their half-formed ideas and theories and promoting their own views as "facts".

The information you seek is freely available in this forum, but it only gets discovered by those who learn to shut up and listen carefully.

Simple MA strategy can get you profits applied to the right market. Key is to separate the good trades from bad ones and to be able to manage the losses when your edge fails

What really works for me is proper money management.

At times you can draft all the charts and patterns and you can follow all the fundamental news yet the market just has a mind of its own. If you happen to be on the right side of the trade, set a TP and protect your gains. If you screwed up and are in a loss, set a SL or maybe even just close the trade and accept the loss. Then start again.

Yes price action DOES work assuming you know what causes it and how to use that knowledge to your advantage. But that is not the "secret sauce" in my opinion. What really works is examining yourself and how ypu respond to market conditions. No matter what method you use to find opportunities what matters most is how you utilize the endless stream of data that comes at you through your monitor. Each method or system has a probability of finding a lead on the market. Do you know what yours is? Have you taken the time to find it out? Have you developed a plan to use it? Do you follow that plan? Do you know the results of your last 100 trades? Have you taken the time to examine why your trades succeeded or failed?

The answers to each of these questions have nothing to do with the markets, yet everything to do with your success. Most (I would venture to say 85%) have no idea nor are they inclined to even try to find out. They prefer to chase the latest gee whiz indicator or complicated quant formula. Instead of examination of the market, examine yourself and start answering some of the above questions.

Do you own research.
Keep asking better questions that would help you develop your own skills, styles and edge.
Do not blindly trust anything that people say, test it yourself.
A man can teach a fisherman how to fish, but it is the fisherman himself to be able to grabs the skills and master it.
And yes, the information you seek is freely available in this forum, both inside and outside this forum too.
So keep digging it, no diggity.
Nothing can works 100% does not means nothing actually works, that's a major different.
I can also think that zachster104 you are actually a genius trader only starting this thread to promote controversy for your own amusement lol
We can all think and say what we what, but the results only come from actions
So do your own research again.

What works is a well rounded financial, economic and political education. Throw in some psychology as well.

There's no such thing as a holy grail system, but hey...everyone who's gone the journey has looked for one. It's all part of the process.

Just learn as much as you can, and if you're truly passionate you'll find a way to make it all work.

I fully agree!
Right market: Only trade the days without very important news such as ADP, Non Farm, FOMC Minutes, USD/EURO/GBP/CHF Bank rates
Trade Cross MA, but wait for a pull back than enter with trade. IF no pull back forget the setup.
Manage Loss: proper money management.
The ART here is how to let your profits run / how to cut your losses short. => Increase Expectancy.

Above you could find the HOLY GRAIL!
Manage probability while following the TREND.
