Hello,

Have anyone thought about calculating Reynolds Number for each bar on any TF ?

By this we could define whether flow of orders was turbulent(chaotic) or laminar. It would be important piece of information.

Regards

Interesting topic. I am not so familiar with physics.

First of all, why exactly do you claim that this would be an important piece of information? How would it look and how would you interpretate this number?

What would you use and different parameters in the formula for the Reynolds number?

I did a quick search and found one interesting application. Chapter 10.4 and further.

Thanks for your valuable reply.

Once laminar process changes into chaotic we may assume that some important actions are taking place, like selling/buying by lets say big money. It it is like a footprint left by important investors.

What I have seen till now is that turbulance occur during and after news release, but not only. The problem is I cannot detect them by myself due to my lack of math background.

I do not know what to put in the given equation. It is mystery to be solved.

Also the book, you gave, includes some essential info for understending how markets work. I believe deterministic chaos theory is an answer and the final one for the price forecasting.

I think the footprint you are referring to is basically Price Action. Big money does leave a trail and it is up to us traders to find the trail and follow it. I find it an interesting topic but I gotta say I don't believe there is some magic number that will solve your problems. There is no holy grail

For more reading on the holy grail I would refer you to Van Tharp.

Best,

PA is not a trail, certainly you cannot tell anything by just looking at the candles.

Magic is not tha case here, but turbulance is a basic information about chaotic system. It is just a step for further research. Also to ne remembered, it is objective number that tells us some fact. It not probabilitie of something.

Sure it is not a cash machine, but still better than stochastics(sic!), linear tools and indicators that are derivatievs of price.
