During Optimisation, I often used to find it hard to pick which result might produce the best results. As there is some results that MT4 strategy tester simply does not include.
So I created a google sheets calculator to find:
- The result with the highest profit and least drawdown. (Profit/Drawdown Ratio)
But then I found that this result is often smaller found in smaller profits.
So I then decided to find
- which is the highest profit result, with the highest Profit/Drawdown Ratio.
I made it in google sheets format, but it should work fine in excel.
It is fairly simple to use. Simply cut and paste profit into the profit column and cut and paste drawdown into the drawdown column. The sheet will auto calculate.
Then you can filter 'smallest to largest' the 'profit drawdown ratio as a percent column' to find the highest probability. If the profit result is not high enough.
Filter 'smallest to largest' the 'highest profit balance to profit drawdown ratio" column. Your profit result will go up but P/D will go down a little.
Note: The data in the sheet is example data.
Hope someone finds it useful.
