Hi Guys,

If its out there I can't find it. On my 15 min metatrader chart I'm trying to find a MA crossover indicator for the higher Timeframe that displays in the separate window a block/bar which is coloured to match the higher timeframe MA positions.

So on my 15 min chart I want to see in a separate window:
a green block/bar if 21 MA is above 34 MA on the 4hr
a orange bar if they are crossing
and a red bar if, on higher 4hr TF the MA is below.

I can plot 2 x MTF Mas on my chart and look at them but its not really what I want, it gets a bit messy. Can same info be used to plot coloured blocks in the separate window, green, red or orange showing higher TF MA above/below/crossing?.

Thanks
PG

These are All Time Frame MA set at 4H 24 simple moving average close and 34 Simple moving average close. They will draw these lines on every time frame. On a 15 min chart they will stair step and change every 4 hours at the close of the candle. It is not quite what you wanted but will give you the same info. YOu will see them cross on the chart when they do on the 4H. Hope this helps. You can adjust the different TF and MA if you want. Here is a pic of what they will look like on a 4H chart.

Here they are as indicators. Just put one inside the other when you drag them on your screen.

Try the attached indicator. It does NOT repaint past bars. If you want one that repaints past bars (ie, you prefer the stairstep look of your MTF MA), then you will need to change the code accordingly.

zznbrm, that is perfect.

I really appreciate your coding and uploading this, it is exactly what I was looking for and I def do not want repainted past bars.

Thank you
PG

Hi guys,

Would you be kind enough to recode this indi?

What I want is MTF ma crossover (10ema and 20ema) info shown on screen:

If the 3 higher time frames have the same cross direction, then I think maybe I can follow this trend to trade in a lower time frame when it becomes the same cross direction.

Thanks,
Fanhow

It is compiled for the new MT4 600 builds and has 2 display styles ( Arrows or Bars ) and the user can also select how many timeframes and in what sequence they are to be displayed.

Thank you so much for your great efforts, it really helps me a lot

However, I find the text is too close the coloured bars, can you kindly fix it and make the text boldface?

Thanks again

It would appear that the issue is with your computer fonts, look at my screenshots you will see the font is totally different. What build MT4 are you using?
The arrows are not showing because once more it looks like your computer fonts do not have "wingdings".
The 3 fonts used in the indicator are Captiva, Webdings and Wingdings.

Well, my MT4 is Ver. 4.00 build 646, and OS is Win8 64bit in Chinese Traditional.
I open a WORD file, and find it already has Webdings, Wingdings and Wingdings3 fonts. (seems not have Captiva)
I found only Wingdings3 have the arrow symbol. Or can you use wingdings3 to code the arrow?
Thank you

Hi,
I tried setting my MT4 up the same as yours using Chinese Traditional and it all worked as it should, however I have added in a shift input for the Timeframes labels so you can shift it as much as required and replaced the Timeframe text with "Arial" which has to be just about the most common font on MT4, other than that I cannot help you as I said earlier it appears to be an issue at your end of things. Try opening a Text or Text Label on your MT4 and see what fonts are listed? I also noticed that your MT4 is 4 digit so I am not sure if that could affect the display I do not think it should affect the text spacing. The Wingding3 does not work for the arrows.

Dear CJA,
Thank you for your hard work and trying. The shift input works well, many thanks, however the arrows still not appear.
I try to find the font is "新細明體" (PMingLiU), but I wonder in English OS would have this font.

Can you add an option that I can choose the font type?
Maybe it can solve this weird issue.

Thank you again

Hi CJA,

Today my MT4 is updated to Build 670 (4 Jul 2014), however, after loading the indicator, the tool bars becomes gray and disable.

Can you fix this problem?

=================== afterward ===================
I move the indicator out of the "Indicators" folder, restart MT4 and then tool bars become working.
Go move the indicator back to "Indicators" folder, restart MT4 and it seems to be okay.
Sorry to bother you in this case, you can totally ignore this post.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Fanhow

Just want to thank cja for this indicator. It was pretty much just what I was looking for yesterday and it's working very well on all the charts I've added it to, including Renko charts. Most convenient that it works for me on Renko.

Thank you
