Eurozone Services PMI – final data
At 57.2 in March, up from 56.8 in February, the final Markit Eurozone Services Business Activity Index rose to its highest level since August 2007 and was above its earlier flash estimate of 56.9. Growth of new business also remained close to February’s three-and-a-half year peak, firming marginally from the flash reading. National differentials remained marked, as growth in Germany and France continued to run well ahead of the Eurozone average. Accelerated growth of business activity in Germany and France drove up the rate of expansion for the big-two to the fastest since June 2006’s near-survey record high.
