UK Housing Equity Injections Increase In Q4
Individuals injected GBP 7 billion into housing equity in the fourth quarter of 2010, the Bank of England said Monday. The negative figure for the third quarter was revised to GBP 6.6 billion from GBP 6.1 billion. Weakness in housing equity withdrawal (HEW) continues to be driven by the relative weakness of lending compared to resilience in housing investment, the BoE said. HEW is new borrowing secured on dwellings that is not invested in the housing market.
