Can anyone suggest where I can find demo / virtual trading accounts to practice?

Thanks for that list .... there's a whole lot there for me to look through. Do have any particular favouries? I'm more intersted in a spread betting demo account

No idea about spread betting, try searching the forum as I have seen a few threads about it. Or you could always google it.

As for your other thread on mt4 or 5, most (if not all brokers at this time) are using mt4 as mt5 hasnt been officially released yet. I think itll be soon though. Anyways, not sure if spread betting places use mt4 at all.

As to which one to go with... thats more up to you depending on what size acct you want to start with, whether you would trade mini/micro/nano etc lots, what type leverage you want...

And remember, that list isnt the be all end all, there are a ton of other brokers out there not on the list.

you should try OANDA, they have low spreads but their charting software isn't so great.

Have a look at SmartLiveMarkets.
You can get a demo from them, and you spreadbet directly from MT4 charts.
Another good thing, is that when you go live, you can trade at 10p per point, for ever if you wish. Most of the other companies start you off at lower stakes, but increase after a few weeks, until you reach their minimum size bet, normally £1 i think.

I'm with ibfx. They allow mini lots so you can have a realistic demo account balance, rather than the default half million dollar account that some brokers start you off with (which totally skews your view of trading IMHO).
