i am not sure if this the nature of the industry or it is just forex.com. i remember the sales people promise me that i would get promotional pro rates for 30 days before i deposit the money, then told me that i don't qualify for the promotion because the promotion ended 2 days before i signed up.
then i ask them what is the spread on EUR/USD for the pro rates. for some reason, they think that is a nuclear secret. everytime i called them, either they play dumb and tell me that the pro rates are the same as the regular rates (which is obvious a lie), or they will say that they'll get back to me, which they never did. i think forex.com is not that legit. i bet their dealers desk scalp swaps and bank interest from the customer money.
another interesting thing, their metatrader platform does not support pro rates. this is the exact words from their sales people...i am not sure they lied to me or their metatrader platform only has 8-10 pips spread for GBPJPY. this means either their sales people are liars or dumbasses.
a person with a half brain will know that it is extremely hard to make a profit with 8-10 pips spread on GBPJPY and 3-5 pips spread on EURUSD.
forex.com was my first retail account, and now i know why my friend laughed at me when i opened it there in the first place.
